Will there ever be a Fullscreen Windowed Option?

Recommended Posts

A Fullscreen Borderless Windowed option when you have multiple monitors is much better than having the game minimize every time you need to Alt-Tab.

This way I can still see what is happening in game while I use my second screen without having the Aspect Ratio mess up.

Anyone else want this feature or have a workaround that can get full 1920x1080 quality?

Do the devs have any plans to add this feature in a future update?

I didn't have a work around so I just checked config files to see if I could make one for you.

Go to the folder Documents -> DayZ
then open DayZ.cfg

Now you are going to change the following values.
Resolution_W=1920;
Resolution_H=1080;

winW=1920;
winH=1080;

winDefW=1920;
winDefH=1080;

Render_W=1920;
Render_H=1080;

Only change the number values don't delete anything or change the spelling of anything.
It wont make it borderless but it means that when you press Alt enter it will change to a window mode that should be the dimensions you said.

Also I only gave it a quick test and didn't try anything other than the menu because I'm on starving status so I have to eat before I'm capable of any more thought.

I just add the following to my launch parameters

-noPause -noborder

I am able to move my mouse from screen to screen as long as I'm in my inventory.

just posting this as I went down the rabbit hole trying to figure this out (edit config etc) and realised it was actually a lot simpler than people typically say. I don't even alt tab.
