Madfast 22 Posted July 6, 2012 First off' date=' you're in a post-soviet area; you really think a T-shirt and a vest will keep you warm? Look at the wiki and it reads (http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Chernarus) "Chernarus is a fictional post-Soviet country, accurately recreated from geographical data of real landscape". Temperatures would be FREEZING at night. [/quote']Why do people assume the eastern europe (Where the ex soviet states are) is some kind of siberian wasteland where everyone freezes to death? It's not it is about the same as the rest of europe, as shown here, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c5/Vegetation_Europe.png.Now those colours represent climate zones, notice how it is the same as say the south of France, renowned for its good weather. Yes it is true that it can get cold there at night in the winter, but they often have hotter summers than we do in Britain and I don't freeze to death when I walk around at night with a t-shirt and jeans. Thanatos (DayZ) 2 Posted July 6, 2012 At the end of the day it's still a game meant to entertain people op.I loved OFP and ARMA 2 but they already had too much depth and realism in their mechanics for the vast majority of gamers. Most people viewed the games as a sim that was too technical and close to the tediousness of reality to be enjoyable but some of us loved it.You are a realism junky pur sang but you are seeking levels of micromanagement and real life authenticity that would make even the harcore ARMA 2 players run for the hills. Some of your points sound interesting though like better ballistics and weapon handling/maintenance to make (long range) shooting more challenging.More realistic zombie melee combat is also welcome. If there truly is demand for a game that makes you gather dozens of sticks sit at a campfire and throw sticks on it of 10 hours straight while sipping water every now and then and taking a piss once in a while while keeping close track of the amount of calories you sonsume it will be made but I wouldn't hold my breath of I were you. Charles Darwin (DayZ) 11 Posted July 8, 2012 "Night should also be literally impossible to navigate in. In real life in an apocalyptic world, you would need to wait till dawn to navigate."i see someone who has never been in the wilderness. 10 minutes in the dark and your vision will be close to that of daytime minus color and contrast which is quite well displayed in ArmAI think that ArmA(or DayZ) could do a better job of simulating the effect that being in the presence of bright lights would have on your vision, and cut the time from no night time vision to full night time vision to maybe 3 minutes instead of the average 10. The other stuff you propose would make the game unfun. You may as well propose a game where we have to sit in a cubicle and answer customer calls for 5 days before we get into the DayZ game so we get the feel of being a civilian. iSayNo 0 Posted July 8, 2012 you over analyze things. to your book you wrote. you forgot one key point you cannot log out of RL and come back to play another day.broken leg? great ill just take morphine and it fixes it, even thought that's takes months irl. i have to eat several times a day when you can go for days without food on just water. if i find a car i can fix it even though cars are more complex then fuel tires engine and hull parts. why is there these limitations? its a game. Compare this game to COD, cod is shit that passes for a fps. compare it to bf3 where there is bullet drop. you still come up short.
