Beizs 186 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) When the game's trying to be as realistic as it can be... well, it's not actually a bad idea. I support this idea trully. But. I completely didn't understand the idea of making them "faster". Truth is - when the virus is attacking those bodies, they start to rot. Rotten meat is actually weaker and more "pliant" to damage. Same with the bones. So i can't imagine sticking to this fast running zombies plan - cause it makes no sense at all. I remember I think at least 8 months ago it was a time, when zombies was slower here, and they started to act almost normally. I was really surprised and glad to see that. Now an odd behaviour of Z's is back and I don't know why... The zombies aren't the dead risen in this game. It's more a rabies like virus which simply does not kill its host. So, the bodies don't rot, which explains why they can run. They're just feral humans. It's more like 28 Days Later than Night of the Living Dead. The reason it's called DayZ is up for debate. Many will tell you it stands for Zero, as in it's the final days. Others will tell you it means zombie. It doesn't matter, though. Most people consider the 28 Weeks Later style zombies to still be zombies. The point of zombies is that they're an unstoppable force that will come at you until you put them down. They were once humans, just like you, and are now something truly horrifying. The fear is meant to be in the fact that the large numbers that eventually will overpower you. I personally prefer fast zombies as they add a much better sense of fear and urgency. They're also far more realistic (it's possible for a virus to mutate - rabies only needs to incubate faster and not kill or at least kill slower to give us 28 Weeks Later style zombies, whereas the dead coming back to life, realistically speaking, is just... No). Edited January 26, 2015 by Beizs

A small percent attack out of fear and confusion, most will go hide somewhere and die. No if rabies went airborn or mutated it would not give us a zombie scenerio, just a whole lot of dead people. Bats live years with the virus making them natures reservoir for it. You do not see bats attacking all of nature do you?

It's just your personal view of the game mate. Which doesn't mean - it really is like that. Now I respect your opinion, but in that case melee weapons would be completely not effective against them = and that would kill the game instantly. For me personally - melee weapons gave the best fun for this game, it can make u feel that u're tryin to survive actually. Bullet weapons instead turns you from survivor to hunter. Especially when you're travelling with groups.[sry for a little offtop at the end]

They're infected. They're still alive, they're still humans. Living humans do not rot. They're not mutated, either. They're just rabid people. Why would that make melee weapons ineffective against them? Melee weapons are effective against them currently. They're not going to make them ineffective... Because if you can kill a person with it, you can kill this kind of zombie with it. In fact, they're easier to kill than classic zombies as killing them does not require a headshot. Watch 28 Days (or weeks) Later. That's the type of zombie they are - and that's what the developers have said multiple times.

Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted January 26, 2015 Too bad there's no "zombies" in DayZ
Sirwarriant12 94 Posted January 26, 2015 Yes thats why the game is called DayInfectedMaybe you should do a little bit of research before making yourself look like an idiot. The Z in DayZ has no connection to undead zombies of any kind. It stands for zero, meaning the day that the outbreak happened.

Reviews was telling same information. Now U didn't convince me, maybe U're gonna convince any of the 3 mln players that already have the game - that zombies are just infected, not zombies. U make me laugh as hell man, thanks
