A Suggestion before the Day Z team does anything else

Recommended Posts

One thing that I would recommend for the Day Z team, before they do anything else, is to optimize the game. Currently, as we all know, the game is just poorly optimized and simply impossible to get 60 fps in big cities like Cherno and Elektro etc. Adding new content isn't going to fix it, and after playing other games where I'm used to the smoothness of 60 fps, getting back into Day Z is just a difficult challenge. For us, the Day Z alpha testers, it would be very appreciated if we could at least test the game at a smooth framerate BEFORE you add new zombie models and BEFORE you add more guns. Your game isn't going to be enjoyable if you get jittery and unplayable experience. Don't fix your optimization later, fix it now, I beg of you.

Optimization is decidedly not the goal of alpha stage. Right now is when they add things. This isn't a finished game, you should not compare it to others. If you want smoother FPS, lower your settings.

Optimizing the game until at least the new renderer is in is a pointless endeavour. Why optimize now when they would have to do it all over again?.

I agree with you, I just meant that they put the new renderer in before they do much else.

If they optimized it today, it would most likely (from my limited knowledge of how computers work) be unoptimized next patch. And from what Ive heard...

ALPHA- Add epic lootz

BETA- Optimize ze epic lootz

CHARLIE- VC EVERYWHERE! Wait...

FULL RELEASE- Add in a few more epic lootz, and optimization patches.
