Hilux/Datsun junk yards, your One Stop Shop

I mean, seriously, these things are awesome. I joined a new private server and got a southern Berezino spawn, made my way to the small junkyard full of pick-up trucks. I came as a bambi, and left as a badass. Hunter pants, hiking boots, black boonie, a drybag, a Mosin + 5 round clip + 2 boxes of ammo, a Repeater + box of ammo + 13 loose rounds, a fire axe and a freaking pristine Riders jacket. Not only that, but I found a lockpick, a machete, some matches and enough food and drink to last me a week. And that's just the stuff I took. I left 2 SKS, an MP-133, a Blaze and a Sporter. There were 3 more drybags plus assorted Taloon and children's bags.

 

So all of that in under 10 minutes. I've always found gearing up to be relatively easy, but this was just ridiculous. And the kicker: I found a pristine LRS and worn compensator AND pristine aviators in the first tavern I came across after leaving the junkyard, plus a Magnum at "Grandma's House" down the road. Now all I need is a sawn-off to tuck in my jacket, some shells, and I'm ready to party!

Are we talking about the junkyard near Novy Sobor? I love that place! I'm usually at least somewhat geared by the time I make it there, but I always leave with something useful.

Yeah those junk yards are the bomb, there are a few around the map. I usually hit the one by stary/novy sobor but if you can find one near your initial spawn, you feel like you hit the lotto.

I tend to go for the SKS there when I find one, you can also find PU scopes there too. Be careful there though, I have run into people looking to troll or just kill new people for the lulz while they look for things to survive

Ahh, okay. I will readily admit that Berezino is not a place I'm heavy on knowledge of due to the extremely hostile environment that keeps me away from there most of the time.

Nope, nothing out of the ordinary. Just many, many cars in a tight space. Everywhere else, loot was as abundant as you'd expect.

It's been that way for a very long time. I think junk yards need their own loot table or something. These should be where you go to find "junk", the kind of stuff you may need for crafting something; like lose pieces of rope, stuff to burn, parts for vehicles and so on. A destroyed truck on the side of the road still having something like a Mosin in it, that I can buy, but not one that has been hauled to a junk yard.

Not just the junk yard in Berezino either, because there are better ones than that one.  I always head for the nearest junk yard, if I fresh spawn close to one....
