Ceallach 56 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) With how many groups did you play with and what was your experience with them? Ever being stuck with some people because you never had anywhere else to go for example? My experience: Group Number 1 A bunch of guys who were just well... I don't even know how to describe it.90% of the gameplay for them consisted of hoarding equipment from server hopping empty servers. I don't think we've ever played this game normally (PvE or PvP). The only players we had ever encountered were those who just happened to come by to those empty servers and whenever it was more than 5 players, the group reconnected to another, more empty place. Oh, and usually someone stupidly died from bugs or human error so the entire "run to every military base and camp on a 0/50 server" had to repeat again and again. Also, I absolutely despised my teammate who introduced me to the team. He was decked in the latest, pristine equipment and weapons... but he never used it. Whenever we ran into someone, he ran away. Whenever I told him to cover this spot (or someone's body so they could run to it), he ran away. Whenever shit hit the fan in general, he always RAN AWAY JUST TO SAVE HIS EQUIPMENT GAH. He had a a fully equipped M4 as well and I shit you not... he hasn't shot from it even once for the past 2 months now and at the same time he kept bothering us that we should all camp in houses on the Novodimitrovsk square and kill other newspawns. Bleh. I sorta stopped playing with them last week and I am on my own now. Group Number 2 Back from the mod days. A much more competent group. With a leader who was an awesome sniper and had Call of Duty reflexes. The thing was, he was reaaaaally bossy, demanding, despotic.. and kind of a showboating douche, really (he was still a nice guy if you showed competence, though). The rest of the team didn't really had much say into our progress, we were mostly there just to kill other players (armed or non-armed), strike wherever he pointed and doing none of that "survivor carebear bullshit". Granted, this was a much better experience than the first one, but it felt more like an ArmA2 realism milsim group than a bunch of friends playing DayZ. The group disbanded after we tried the first alpha version of DayZ. People kept saying we would all go back together after DayZ hits at least the beta state, but I think they've buried the game for good. So... what are your group or clan experiences? Encountered something similiar? Or perhaps your experience was better than mine? Edited January 7, 2015 by Ceallach
aasand 92 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Had a group like nr 1. Got bored and never played with them again. Now it's just me and some friends from uni talking shit and just trying to cause as much mischief as possible. We have opposite personalities so it often turns into good cop/bad cop. I wish some of my RL friends would be into DayZ as well, heh. But alas.
aasand 92 Posted January 8, 2015 Sounds like fun. I wish some of my RL friends would be into DayZ as well, heh. But alas.I recruited them sort of. Just showed them some mr.blackout diaries and they where sold to this buggy, hacker filled paradise.
rybec 339 Posted January 8, 2015 My guys want me to be the navigator for everywhere. Most of the time I don't mind.We usually end up split from playing solo and hop to a less populated server to meet up and then everyone has to leave once we all meet up.Sometimes we shoot at things, but that doesn't get to happen often. treetop82 59 Posted January 8, 2015 Play with another friend, we play as loaners and avoid obvious hot spots but are fully armed head to toe and ready to kill. We're into exploring, hoarding rare loot and hunting helo crashes. We've had many other players in our crosshairs but have just left them alone.
VermillionX 78 Posted January 8, 2015 I'm stuck playing solo because I have no friends and 99% of the people I encounter are KoS or just plain assholes.
lavolpe 10 Posted January 8, 2015 The first "group" I rolled with was 2 of my real life friends, they bought me all the games necessary for the Mod and all they asked of me was to play counter-sniper, I got all my stuff given to me and a free ride from the coast. I got to kill people once every blue moon and I couldn't go out and doing anything without them because as soon as I opened anything ARMA related they'd just spam and join me. So, one would imagine not to fun. (This is the only long story don't worry)After a long gap, I got SA and I was joined by my lovely group of competitive Team Fortress 2 friends. They were good while they lasted. They preferred either run or playing friendly BUT they all didn't seem fond of the game because of all the running and bugs, they died in stupid ways which left only me and one other playing. Then that one other shot a fully kitted guy in beres and then a group of 10+ fully kitted guys came down from the hill seeking revenge he died in a puff of bullets (The Tf2 group wasn't a very smart group of people). I just sat in the top of the pub as silent as possible while watching them all run around, then one of them happened to decide to clear upstairs (my reaction at this time was ;-; that face exactly) I got popped in the neck by an FNX shot and went unco (I missed the guys head by a mm). Then by the powers of having boobs, the sentence "GG, well played." Left my mic and then I got the question of "Do you want me to revive you?" with my friend having left me at that time I took him up on that offer. Meet group three. My experiences with group 3 were amazing, barging into places watching the lead three guys of the group take out ANY if not all the threats in two secs. We all laughed, and we made lots of friends. I played 600+ hours with this group so many memorable things like "IF YOU DON'T COME OUT OF THERE, I WILL COME UP AND DRAG YOU OUT BY YOUR PUBES" and one of their drunk killing sprees of 15 people straight from the top of appartments in Beres. We killed a lot of the time but we always made it an "interesting" experience when we did. We got hunted by hackers on multiple occassions. And when we rolled clan tags, every full server would magically become deserted after a couple of kills. But it didn't last, shit started going south when 500+ of my hours were spent with a sir named Preacher and he wanted to leave the clan and the clan thought it was because of me. But we split from them taking all those loyal to Preacher away (so like 80% of the clan.) We tried making our own clan but everyone got busy with different schedules. So we joined another group, not going to name them, because the time with them was horrible, Preach and myself would go do PVP and take the few of them that wanted to with us (PVP clan, with loose mil co-ordination my butt). The group was big, but nearly all of them just fapped in the forest and fished, which left us outcasts and no one would even consider playing with us. So we left. The next group we joined was a small starting up clan, they didn't have many members, and we got along well with the admin. Then the group growed because of all of us joining and making a name for the clan, to say we taught them how to play is an understatement. And then stuff started going bad when he put badmins in the ts. I was getting abused by one of the squeakers in group on in-game, so I yelled at him in the ts coms and ended up getting yelled at and accused of making up that fact that he was doing it by one of them. The admin wasn't there and when I told him about it he said I should of just shot the kid in the face and and badmin for being a dick. We left soon after though because our other friends along with us weren't getting along with them. Which leds us to now. We've made a clan called [soGo], we have 5 main admins, and have 4-7 mods, all of us get along since we've been playing together for 900+ hours. We're currently taking a break from the clan though because Preach and myself have moved and are setting up to move again. And Preach is the face of our clan along with one of our other guys Citrus, but you can't have one without the other. We have exciting adventures, we PVP a lot. Our favourite hobby is hand-cuffing people who have screwed up and pushing them onto a fire, preferrably on full servers in the main street of Cherno. I hope that this one lasts, finding a clan to suit our large group of friends is hard-work. But over-all, you will always get good and bad experiences with clans, and even if you find a good clan you may not like one or two of the members in it, but if you make loyal friends and build up that group you'll probably either make a clan of your own or at least have the group that you wanna play with you just a click away.
