I'm defending a friends gear and an armed guy is constantly approaching. When my friend turns up he decides to run off. We hunt him down. But the hunt is short lived when we realize he's not that good of a prey... Even apologized to him after killing him.

He obviously is new to DayZ. Carrying an sks, and pulling a gun out, when another player (you) confronts him with your gun drawn. You should've been like "next time don't pull out your gun, now I'm taking all of your stuff." he would've learned from that.

I'd carry an SKS if i had more ammo for it. The Mosin is'nt always the only gun to carry.
SKS is good for short/medium range confrontations. He could have killed us both if we both had Mosins and missed our first shots. (Which we might have, beeing like 10m away from him lol)
