Who'd have thunk it? Possible assistance in getting better FPS...

Recommended Posts

So, just so you realise where I am working from, I am an experienced PC owner and know what is going on beneath the bonnet of windows. I am also a bit of a tweaker who will happily turn on and off services/processes and overclock items just to get a decent rig running better. So with that in mind one the last things I would expect to work for me is the Razer Game Booster.

Essentially all this does is turn off some services, kills some processes and sets the priority of the game to high. These are things I am doing already, yet DayZ was still running choppy with a poor FPS. It really was a last gasp test thing out of curiosity, but lo and behold not only did it add an extra 5-10 FPS, that FPS was now far more solid for me.

As I say, I'm a geek and know what the app is doing and have replicated everything it's doing and yet for some reason I'm not getting the same performance boost, albeit slight. It's with much embarrassment I am recommending this, but against previous experience I am.
