Food and Loot?

So im pretty new to the game and i cant really get anywhere so i was thinking i needed some help. The very first time i played the game i played for about 3 hours and got some semi good loot and weapons. Ever since i got KOS'd on that character it has just been me spawning and dying of starvation because i cant find any food anywhere. Ive gone through about 4 different characters this way and ive tried being on low population servers, going inland off spawn etc. I just cant seem to find any food at all besides the fact that i havent found a backpack or anything other than a crowbar since i died with my first character. Any tips at all?

Look up deanzphx gaming channel on youtube.  He has a 6 part series surviving for new players.  It's not mine but it's the best (maybe only) guide with the current patch of the mod.

Definetely stick to small towns. Making a run into Cherno or Elektro with no weapons is asking for death. If you do go into Cherno, shy away from the Factory. There are tons of sniping spots.

I've not played since my pc broke but what I used to do is this: Say I spawned far down the coast in the south east, I'd head up the coast, avoiding kamenka, going straight to komorovo, where'd I go into the big industrial building and the attached barn, on the coast.  I'd pick up any tins of food and drink, and check all floors for an axe.  I'd then go on to balota and do the same.  I'd not bother with the air field as I don't worry about guns in the early stages of a game.  If I have an axe I can usually survive, as it's my weapon of choice.  All the way, I run when there are no zombies and I creep when there are.  

 

My first priority is always food, drink and axe, then bandages and a backpack. Then I can hit cherno and find the rest pretty easily as long as I don't run. :thumbsup:

Apple trees have unlimited apples. So there is a start if you can't find any food.

This is also the same with berries. There are plenty of guides in the forum that

you can look at for learning more about how to find food fast. Try a little search

on how to find food, etc.

Take a break and play the day after. You'll be good then. If you ever get frustrated with the game and cant seem to live! Then just take a break.
