Some question before buy

Recommended Posts

I dont know if this is the right place to ask but this can change me to a new player :)

I have some questions:

-Is Battleye got false positive ban(s)? Will their support help (if it happen)? Can I get baned because of somebody else? (if I pick up a 'gliched/hacked' weapon or a hacker teleports me,...)

The only reason I ask this is because nearly every day there is a post about "OMG I BANNED FOR NO REASON" and I wanted to know if these are real or not. I know false positive bans CAN happen but are these hackers who want to get away with it or these bans happen soo frequent. Is it as 'safe' as VAC in false bans. I heard on forums that it checks browser history and if you even search cheat related things it can ban, or it can ban if it found a program which can be a cheat I even read somebody got banned for using Razer Game Booster (whic I also use)

-Is this game enjoyable alone without microphone?

Im 99% sure Ill play this game alone because my friends never buy games :(

I can get a microphone but I dont know if it is necesarry.

-Is it true that 75% of the players are called 'bandits' who enjoy killing new players?

-Is it playable on lower settings or is it necesarry to run on higher (there is player A and B, player A is run Dayz on high, B is on low; Due setting different can A see player B but B cant see player A)?

Sorry for my english but its not my primary language. I hope everybody can understand my questions and can help me :)

Thanks.

1. Play the game as intended and you should be safe.

2. I have tried with and without microphone. Both works, but I'd say it's much more interesting to actually communicate with the other people.

No mic is more tailored for the lone wolf character as i see it.

3. Not all bandits kill and the ones that kill for fun are murderers, not bandits. There is a gray line somewhere though.

Most people get itchy trigger fingers around other players, regardless of being a bandit or not.

4. It's actually easier to see players with lower settings, especially when they are hiding in dense areas. Try to lower a lot of settings and see for yourself.

- If you don't cheat, you don't have to worry about anything

- Probably not. Mutes are often shot on sight. Including by me. If you don't have a microphone you are basically an NPC. Buy a microphone. Why do you not already have one? Is ten dollars at Walmart too much of an expenditure of your money? I still don't know why any PC player won't spend ten dollars on a microphone when they have computers worth hundreds and hundreds.

- If you're worried about other players killing you, don't buy this game

- Running the game on low setting will indeed get you better frame rates, but even with my computer (i7-4770k, GTX 780 Ti Classified) The game can still run like a quadruple amputee coated in whipped sweet cream butter. Running the game at better settings can be of some assistance in terms of the terrain and seeing loot at a distance, but I haven't really noticed that it's harder to see other players or zombies at a distance when at low settings. It may actually be easier to see them since there's so much less terrain and clutter being generated. I would say that the FPS gain can be far more tactically effective than anything else

But, you have to realize that this game is in Alpha. It's buggy. It's messy. Shit happens. Other players can be twat-bags. Those are things you'll just have to learn to live with for now.

The people who claim being banned for no reason were banned for good reasons.  Believe it, those guys just come here to cry because they got caught.

This is a tough game to have social interactions in, microphone or not, bandit or not.  Bandits, true bandits, will not bother fresh spawns on the coast, they don't have anything to make it worthwhile.  You will be lied to about intentions, get used to that.  If I see a fully geared character on the coast they are very likely up to no good and should be avoided at all costs.

You're gonna hear people say, "I'm friendly" or "I don't have a weapon out" followed by many other lies designed to put you at ease until you will get the black "you are dead" screen because they weren't, happens all the time.

I tend to use my pickaxe or axe against them. 60% or the time, it works every time :D

I've read about it happening but it's extremely rare. If you're not doing anything out of the ordinary (attempting to modify source, installing weird crap or paid hacks) you're likely fine. Anyone who worries about this is likely not following the rules though.

Sure, I play most of the time without a mic because if I talk I'll wake everyone up at night. The play style is called "lonewolf". You can type, somewhat. However, just understand that not being able to talk to people makes them uneasy and they're more likely to kill you. That's not so bad?

-Is it true that 75% of the players are called 'bandits' who enjoy killing new players?

No, I wouldn't say it's that high. There's plenty of survivors out there willing to help fellow survivors. However, trust noone and never assume you're alone...

No, you adjust the settings on your client side and that has no impact on what anyone else sees.

When it comes to the amount of murderers in this game, people exaggerate it by a LOT. I meet more people who are just like "Hey bro what's up" than people who shoot me for no reason. Of course, there are plenty of murders and you should never trust anyone.

Thanks the replies.

"Anyone who worries about this is likely not following the rules though."

I never hacked in any games (and dont want to in the future) the only reason I was worried is because people claims that Battleye support dont help even if they didnt cheated/hacked. And Battleye is a bad anticheat and has a lot of false positive.

I've played with nearly 100 people for different lengths of time and none of them ever got banned for a false positive. Also none of them were hackers.

As far as Razer game booster I've never heard of it, I would like to see some comments on that

"Razer is a company specializing in products specifically marketed to gamers. The Razer brand is currently being marketed under Razer USA Ltd. Razer's main slogan is 'FOR GAMERS, BY GAMERS'." its from wikipedia. They mainly sell gaming  peripherals but they have gaming laptops and a gaming tablet. Its their program.

I use it, I also have a Razer Naga mouse & Deathstalker keyboard. Razer Game boost closes/stops unnecessary processes when you launch games making your PC faster! It also gives you a on screen FPS meter. To be fair though the new render will make a huge difference performance wise. DX10/11 is so much better than DX9c. For starters DX9c only supports 2GPU's. So if our got Tri/Quad SLI or Crossfire then your going to get a boost from the dormant GPU's. DX10.1 allows GPU's to do AA before the pixle is fully rendered amongst other improvements. DX11 introduced multi threading to DX. While drivers from Nvidia and AMD have been threaded for awhile DX was not properly threaded until DX11.

That is by far the best description of the current state of the game I have ever read.
