DayZ Supporter Edition as a gift?

Just so I understand this correctly. If I buy the DayZ Supporter Edition then I will receive two Steam Codes. One for DayZ, One for ARMA 2  Complete. Its my brothers birthday on the 24th. I was going to buy it through Steam, but there is no Supporter Edition option directly in Steam.

You can get the Supporter Edition from the Bohemia website, but for the price and considering Steam sales, I would wonder if it wouldn't just be cheaper to buy them separately. I also feel that Arma2/DayZ Mod are very much on the decline and I have to wonder whether it's really worth spending the time getting into it. That is from someone who spent 2 years playing the mod.

My brother is in the military. I was going to buy him the standalone and ARMA 2. Which I though he would also enjoy. i don't think his AMD A8 powered laptop will run ARMA 3. Although, he has as many steamshaders as my aging desktop currently. I'll buy it though steam I think.
