Why No Epoch Servers With No Traders?

Recommended Posts

Why are there no Epoch servers with traders turned off?  I can see why some people like traders, I had fun for a bit.  Now, I personally feel traders run the DayZ experience.  There is no need to scavenge anything.  When one spawns in, loot a fire station, get a gun, sell said gun, buy backpack supplies and a cheap vehicle.  Now all you do is run guns to make money.  I miss the thrill of finding an ALICE pack in a supermarket; finding those fuel tank parts that you need to get that truck up and running.  Also I find I get a lot less human encounters in places that don't have military loot (i.e. supermarkets) and a lot more encounters at places that do.  It's odd to me there's not enough people that feel this way to populate a server.  Maybe not many, or even a few, but at least one server.  Is it really that niche?

I guess I have found a couple Epoch servers that have no traders, but they are hardcore survival servers.  Don't know if I want to play on a server that has no can food spawns.  Might be fun, probably better than normal Epoch, but alas they are all empty or near empty.

Side note what happened to Origins?  I quit playing for awhile and when I came back Origins was totally dead.

Check out the server FINALDayZ. Its on Namalsk, with no traders what so ever. Well ok, no AI traders. I have set my base up as a trading station. Yes, iris hardcore surivival. I was sceptic st first to, but after playing some, its awesome. Its not heavy population, but its growing atm ;)

We have a server which is exactly just that. No traders and no currency what so ever. Scavenge, survive and loot. Everything that you would find in Epoch is in game, base building, weapon and vehicle variety are all there. There are special missions to obtain higher tiered vehicles and weapons. There is around 15 steady players who are all pretty friendly to answer any questions or provide some assistance. I have include the server name, IP and port. hope to see you there. Also the server is around a week old so its constantly evolving and ideas and feedback are appreciated!

Dayz Epoch Chernarus ClanD

IP: 199.101.98.74
Port: 2322

I suggest using Dayz Launcher as Dayz Commander is not current and have issues connecting to some servers.

I'm putting up a server with traders BUT.... the user base has to put items into the traders or else you get like 1-2 items once gone... gone until someone sells something.  this makes the player base have to go look for things. Server will have traders for the fact of buying armored things but... if you don't look for things to sell you won't get any money to buy any upgraded resources which will be at an extreme premium.  I doubt if I would get any interest from the forums but 1 person or 50 people doesn't matter long as its fun and challenging.

most of the player base has become lazy, actually this is a growing trend in gaming period. I agree with you Epoch has trended in a direction where Arma 3 version has no zombies (thanks to B.I.) and everyone wants easy mode.
