FPS Problems (and I know DAYz isnt optimized)

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read. I just have a general questions about my FPS, I recently purchased a custom PC and the specs are as follows:

Z97-a asus MOBO

i7 4790k processor 4ghz

8gbs ram

GTX 970 MSI OC edition

SSD

 

As you can tell this a fairly high end system but I'm having concerning FPS issues. I've followed all guides at tweaking the settings. I currently get great FPS out of cities (anywhere from 60-100+) but once im in a town I see FPS consistently in the 20-30 range. I just want to make sure others with similar systems have these issues or if I've possibly got a defective piece in my PC. I don't even have all of the settings on high, they're on low or normal for the most part...

20-30 FPS is actually pretty good inside cities, considering they give most people shit frames. Usually I get about 10-15 in cities.

We are all on the same boat. Disabling shadows, AA and put object detail on standard or lower should help in towns.

Ah so even current gen vid cards/processors are producing the same crappy frame rates? man thats a bummer but thats also alpha :(

Some people claim they pull off at least 40FPS in any city with worse hardware. Under what screen resolution are you playing?

I'm at 1680 by 1050 currently, both resolution and rendering.
