The ballistic vests total overhaul.

I kinda feel that the Ballistic vest, Even if the original model was ported from ARMA 3 could make a comeback as a US crashsite item with a  emphasis on ballistic protection that is able to be expanded with modules that add inventory slots/able to take certain items for "free", saving an item slot for something else.

Things like a Comms pouch for a walkie-talkie, A small container for C4, A loose dump pouch, pistol holster etc etc

 

But the drawback is that this thing's modules have to share the same spawn poins and be really friggin' rare to counteract the fact that the primary feature is to absorb bullets

Tis is pretty cool, kinda like being able to store a knife in combat boots make the vest store something specific. Do they have loops for shotgun shells IRL or something? Maybe it coud take 8 shells and 2 mags (of 1 type, depending wether its a Russian or American vest) as specific slots then have the rest as anything slots.

 

A drawback could be a very slightly reduced movment speed and (when stamina/weight arrives) a weight value and penalty to stamina :)

Saw the video, bad and terrible video.  Anyway, your idea sounds reasonable and good, until people figure ways of abusing it by turning those pouches that should be used for walkies, canteens, c4 <_< , into just more ammo storage containers.  I don't know how many people I've already killed and the only thing on them is ammo.  Just ammo.

The ballistic vest was removed because of clipping errors, not because it was "pointless."

 

A new MOLLE-ballistic vest or plate carrier would be cool to have at some point, though.

This was data mined a few months ago, but it would be great if it worked like what OP was getting at, being able to attach pouches.
