What causes a server to reset a player upon connection?

Recommended Posts

So I was playing in a server for awhile and suddenly had to run to the bathroom where I disconnect from the server since I don't trust walking away from my computer in this game. I return and I re-join the same server. Upon connecting the game kinda lags on connecting (black screen background saying Please Wait...") and then it respawns me in a fresh character. Whyyyyyyyyyyy?

You were probably killed within 30 seconds of logging off.  Your character remains in world for a little bit after you log out.

A while ago I read that this can be caused by an failed sync attempt with the central hive. The suggestion was to log out immediately and try again.

So far, no news on the random "reset character" issue. However, the devs have the issue in hand and will be addressing it during development.
