Anyone that can clue me on what these settings do?

shadingQuality=7;

shadowQuality=3;

sceneComplexity=300000;

viewDistance=1600;

terrainGrid=25;

People have complained that our server night time is much darker than other servers (and provided screen shots as examples - below). Just looking for some options.

Well your server is much more overcast in the example. That will darken it a bit. You can see this because the other server has stars showing. Also what moon phase as a full moon can really light up a server.

I think it just depends on the moon/stars cycle with the time. I was playing on my server and it was pitch black and an hour or so later the stars and moon were out and I could see about as good as the second picture. I'm using the default settings from the server files.
