Is MP5 OEM Buttstock back in the game?

Recommended Posts

The mp5 was spawning without it's buttstock through entire 0.49 patch but I haven't checked since 0.50. Can anybody confirm if they are still finally back ingame or not?

It was removed for no reason, and mp5k is ugly without buttstock.

I think it's a bug and they forgot to fix it in 0.50....

The MP5K does not come with a buttstock as standard. 'K' refering to the Kurtz or short version of the MP5, a stock can be fitted but is not part of the standard MP5K. So not having it in game is the right thing.

Actually the developers said they named it MP5K because of copy right reasons about mp5 and because MP5K would fit more into a post apocalyptic than MP5.

Also it was mainly removed because developers wanted to make different inventory sizes for MP5 and MP5K. But it seems they've forgot about it and since then we haven't heard any news.

I wasn't aware of that from the devs. However the 'k' version is still the short non buttstock version, google it and see the majority of images without an attached buttstock.

You guys are both wrong.

The "MP5-K" ingame is an MP5K

Top is DayZ's "MP5-K", the middle is a Heckler & Koch MP5KA4, and the bottom is a Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW.  DayZ's MP5K is a moshpit of a bunch of different features; it has (or had) a PDW-stock, but it's attached in an unorthodox manner. Likewise, it's lacking the extended flash hider of the MP5K-PDW and has aftermarket RIS attached to it.

Technically the stock shouldn't be spawning on the variant of the MP5K we have, but having it spawn around on its own as an available attachment is perfectly fine.

They didn't name it the "MP5-K" because of copyright reasons (Using "MP5" is fine), they named it "MP5-K" because it is an MP5K. There's nothing about the MP5K that makes it "fit" more into the style of a post-apocalyptic world. In fact, standard MP5A3s/MP5A4s would be far more realistic and available, especially in a post-Soviet environment (The MP5K isn't unrealistic, but it's definitely not as realistic).

I don't believe it was removed intentionally... I believe it's the product of a bug that it no longer spawns.

They should give if the stock back.

It's pretty terrible without it looks like something out of a corny action movie or a dudebro shooter.

Wish they would have just gone with an full sized mp5
