Col. Ben Sherman 2 Posted November 11, 2014 Hello, Now I got to say that DayZ is pissing me the fu*k off. I'm fine with loosing my gear from time to time but each time a server restart I'm loosing all my gear and this is a pain in the ass as I normally just get good gear when it's restarting. The Riddler (DayZ) 410 Posted November 11, 2014 When a server restarts, don't jump right back on especially if the server states the time is 08:00. Give it a few more seconds or minutes to update to the real time the server starts at and then join. I've been a victim on my own server of exactly what you describe above. Our server start time in game is 12:30 and i joined right after a restart when it read 08:00 and lost my character and spawned a new location. I believe the dev's are already aware of this issue so hopefully fixed soon, but for now when a server restarts, take a quick break and then come back and join the server and see how that works. Cheers! Glad to help another survivor! I made a general post about this issue in the .50 discussion thread since there is discussion in there about player's losing their character. Not sure if its related but I mentioned what I said above in hopes it helps others. I'm gonna search the dev tracker today to see if its an open item or has been reported..... I've joined full servers before and still had this happen to me (precisely because I was avoiding newly-reset servers). It's going to keep happening to you. All we can do is bring more attention to the issue until it's fixed. I see a lot more people encountering it - hopefully the awareness will start spreading. Do you know if its on 1pp or 3pp servers or both? I am sure i'm jinxing myself by saying this, but I have not had an issue as you mention. The only time I lost my character was as I described above. I have heard other players on our server complain they just lost their character, but it was on another server before they hopped on ours. Are we sure the Dev's actually have an open feedback issue on this here: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/my_view_page.php ?? My account for some reason on there is "disabled" and they are not sure why so I can't add anything at the moment. If its not in there somebody add it. They need to know about this. Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted November 13, 2014 This is a known issue and a result of connecting shortly after a server restart. Please wait a couple minutes before reconnecting to a freshly restarted server - for now that is all that can be done.
