=RK=Achilles 31 Posted November 10, 2014 So one of my clan mates just purchased a DayZ server. Every once in a while the server will go down, and when we reconnect, we are new spawns. It hasn't happened EVERY time the server goes down, but several. It has wiped all of our characters several times. We can play on other servers without any issue. Even through the server restarts. I couldn't find anything on this pertaining to it happening on the owners server only. I'm not even sure what all the settings are on the server, could it have something to do with persistence? How do you turn persistence on and off? Thanks for any guidance!
Geckofrog7 1168 Posted November 10, 2014 Wait 5-10 minutes before you rejoin after a server reset, and if it says "spawning" in 59 seconds, alt tab and don't move the new character.
t1337dude 101 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) It's a major game breaking bug that hasn't been labeled high-priority yet. I'm 100% certain that it's caused by rejoining a server too early after a reset (which is slightly ambiguous), but not exclusively. I've joined servers that were full and still experienced this bug. I don't own any servers, yet my character gets lost to this bug practically every time I play. Best thing we can do is draw attention to the issue so it's fixed. Personally, I'm done playing the game and am sticking to the forums until it's fixed - it makes the game perfectly not fun to play. SmashT 10907 Posted November 12, 2014 This is a known issue and a result of connecting shortly after a server restart. Please wait a couple minutes before reconnecting to a freshly restarted server - for now that is all that can be done. The devs are however working on an eventual fix of this problem.
