Player name and how to go over limited letters in name (seen it)

Simple question

How do I break the character name limit?

In game this :

Lone warrior

Just about fits before I reach the maximum number of letters avaliable

However I saw ths the other day:

HGEF BrandiVancovour

Which is clearly well past the limit

How do people do this? As when I try, on the title screen it just stops letting me type after a while

Edit value "playername" in your .dayzprofile file.
