Chamil 22 Posted October 31, 2014 WELLSaying that you're all well fed and no longer thirsty, equipping no gun running in a straight line might take like thirty minutes depending on the surfaces you have to run over?It really isn't that long to get to one side from an other. The oriëntation without a compass is what makes you waste time. LolAll I can say is orientate from road to road, unless you basically know every town just like that it won't really help youStart off at one point, use the dayz map, and keep moving from point to pointincase you didn't know this one yet:http://dayzdb.com/map

ChainReactor 922 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Map orientation is really something you will have to learn. Once ( I was pretty new to the game ) i started in Krasnostav, visited the NEAF, decided to run south and one hour later, i've seen another airfield. "NWAF? Balota?, I thought...." Nah, it has been NEAF. I spent one hour to sprint a perfect circle. Pretty frustrating moment. :) Edited October 31, 2014 by ChainReactor
Conrad_The_Comrade 577 Posted October 31, 2014 Lol, I use the in game map and compass all the time, and I've navigated from the South East, met up with some friends, led us to the NEAF, then to Devils Castle, then NWAF, then the military base below the NWAF, then all the way to Balota, to both Cherno and Electro, and then around again xD I've got navigation down to the T. It's fairly simple after a couple years of DayZ (Mod included of course)

Judopunch 523 Posted October 31, 2014 No less than 15 minutes, usually not more than an hour. Depends on the terrain, if you stop to eat/loot. Generally about 30 minutes though. Now, if you are in a barren wasteland with no trees or roads anywhere and a rather ugly repeating grassland.... You went afk running. Good luck as that goes on forever.
