I Rewrote my DayZ Trading Platform Based on Feedback

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Some of you might remember me from this old thread

I've taken what people have told me, and tried to make it easy to use and more robust.

New features:

1. new UI based on user feedback, should be easier to understand what you're looking at.

2. new "top traders" - very simple, shows the people with the top ten user rep (if it's above 0)

3. you can now see people's profiles - for example, my profile is here

4. you can now pick items from another person's trade and make offers based on those items

For example, if someone offers a pristine AKM and a tent for a pristine Mosin, but I don't want the AKM, I can deselect AKM, and offer my Mosin for just the tent. Typically, you'd use this function to try to make a trade when you don't have 100% of the items the trader is asking for, but still want to see if s/he'll go for it.

As before, it's not 100%. I'm just one guy with a computer. Think of it like a pre-release beta: it's incomplete in some areas and it's not 100% bug-free (it's hard to write bug-free code), but it's functional enough to use.

I hope you guys like what I've done in the last couple days. Keep the feedback coming. Thanks! As before, you can find the webapp here

Very nice. Perhaps include location?
Maybe even contact details? Would be faster to meet up on skype or sumth imo.

So, how do I trade? Maybe I'm not logged in or something? The site looks much better, good job man.

I tried logging in through Steam and it is telling me "incorrect login" yet that isn't true. I'm logged into Steam right now. I used my Steam Id and pass so what gives?

Which is telling you that? My site or Steam? If you make it through the authentication process on Steam, you should be good to go.

Hey Tullsy,

It was steam telling me that, but only when I clicked on the log-in button. It's odd.

EDIT: I got it. I forgot the first part of my Steam password! Either way, still having issues with the trades, see my newest post Tullsy.

I'm sorry bro but I must be slow or something. I don't see how to initiate a trade or start a new trade. There is no clear indication of how to do it. I did hit the little magnifying glass and typed that I wanted a lock picking set but nothing happened/showed up on the board that I was looking for it. What exactly do you think I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

-Schweinsteiger.

I apologize for falling off the map, lately. Please be assured, I haven't forgot TradeZ. A few things came up, so I have not been able to dedicate as much time towards the project as I'd like.

Just a quick status update: I've been working on TradeZ for a the last couple hours- fixing various things, iteration, etc. Small, critical, bugfixes aside, the next update is going to coincide with the release of vehicle features in DayZ - I feel that would be best for the platform. Thank you to those who have stuck with it through this quiet period.

Thanks, as always.

, it looks like lock picks aren't in my database, yet. I'll add them - they should be able to be traded, and searched for more easily, then.

Awesome idea tullsy , any way that we could somehow see what server type the person/items being trade are coming from ? For example , John Q wants to trade an m4 for a Smersh vest and he is in 1St person only servers ... As some people like me only play in one type like first person , just so people can ignore the trades for the opposite game type .
