Unintentional weapon switching during combat.

I just started playing the game again recently after a few months (during which time I had to reformat so all settings were reset). While playing today, I came in contact with some zombies and switched to my melee weapon (using my 1 key on the keyboard) and while fighting them my character would switch to whatever item I had in my 3 slot. Obviously this was very frustrating because it is hard enough killing zombies with sub par melee weapons, but it got me killed twice already. I don't believe it is my keyboard.

 

Any else have any similar issue?

just be careful to leave a second or two between axe swings.  REALLY sucks to have your freakin MAP come out in the middle of a bunch of zombies. :-/

Yeah, I have had that happen. Just run away a bit and then swap back. I've never had it happen in a gunfight, fortunately

Leave the 3rd slot in ur inventory hotbar empty, stops it from happening ;)
