Improvised backpack Question.

I made 3 improvised backpacks and was storing gear in them, i found a tent and on my return , only about half the items were left in them. I wanted to know if items can like degrade in the bags and vanish ? or were they stolen ( do you think )  Because if they degrade and poof* thats fine , but i don't want to put a tent down in the same spot and have that robbed. Has anyone else had items vanish from those bags i guess is my question.

I think clothing and food items(and common items like that) are able to "despawn" if there are to many of those on the server. I guess as new items spawn, old items despawn. I remember one time there was like 50 hats and shoes in most jail buildings but I have not seen that in a while. I have no proof about this, you should check the change log's that have come out since persistent items was implemented.

It's not optimal right now as there are many reports of some items vanishing from tents and such. Just make sure they are really gone, and not just invisible. Try moving around an item in the backpack to see if the disappeared items come back.

Ok , Thank you guy's. Yea it was like  alota food and cooking stove and items like that. I'll drop the tent and hide the bags in another spot and keep checking on them. Thank you for your help.

items within items disappear on server restart. If the server decides to rearange items within the packs, but can not solve a place to put them it will delete them. Longer or taller items are the most problematic.
