Can't play DAYZ

Hello all

 

I bought Arma2 combined ops from steam, I don't care about arma I just want to play DAYZ online.

I opened account in steam, installed arma2 and arrowhead, played both of them for a few minutes, installed dayz mod from steam ( made sure to install all of them in the same folder ), and when try to open DAYZ I get those errors:

1. "cannot load world 'ca chernarus chernarus.wrp"

2.  "Addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattack'"

 

According to several solutions I found, I copy and replace the addons folder from arma to arma AO, it manage to solve the first error but whenever i try to login to any server I get this "downloadable content missing" error with a list of missing files and of course getting refuse.

Instead of playing I'm delving in google and forums for the past 2 days !! I'm not a software engineer and have no desire to be I just want to play DAYZ... that's all.

 

So please don't tell me its been answered 100 times because I tried so many solutions I'm completely confused, I reinstall the PC from scratch, new win7 ultimate with SP1.

 

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE ME BY THE HAND and guide me step by step what to do ?  PLEASE ??

Thanks it seem much like I did but i will give it a try, any other suggestions ? is there a bullet proof sequence of installtions / configs that works every time ?

not really best practice is to follow each game through

 

run steam as admin

 

arma2 - install - play

arma2oa - install - play

same for any dlc 

then install the mod  and hopefully play :)

Thanks i did that and manage to play 8 times !!!  at Dystopia server.

 

thing is I did what "kichilron"  advised and copy the content of the addon folder from arma to arma2 it got me pass the first error but whenever i try to connect to servers I get " modified files" or "can play/edit tis mission " errors with a long file list , any advise how to resolve this ?

There does seem to be plenty of modifications to the original mod which Steam give to download. I would suggest searching "vanilla" which requires no mod. I am however a newbie too and have been in a few, I'm using DayZ Commander to download various mods. But I generally want to know which mods are best to get, in order to play in most common DayZ servers.
