Need Help! Major Error when starting up game

dunno if its just me but ive just bought this game and whenever i start it everything goes all enlarged before showing me the start menu but an incredibly pixelated version of it. I cant even read the writing. The mouse wont move unless i click then the cursor appears at the place where it should have originally moved too. I managed to get onto a server but even then everything was quite unclear (although it was at night). Tried configuring but could barely see what i was doing and i still had this cursor problem. Anybody else have this problem? how can it be resolved?

Try running auto config in the launch options.

 

In Steam, right click "DayZ" and go to Properties

 

Under the General tab look for "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS"

In there type

 

-autoconfig

 

It should configure the resolution for you.

 

If that fails, you'll just have to try and use the mouse to get to the settings and change it yourself.

I usually have the exact same problem when I end up clicking on default in the settings lol.

I've not used the autconfig thing myself but I'm sure that's what you need to type in.

go to C:\Users\YOURUSERHERE\Documents\DayZ

 

open DayZ.cfg 

 

and edit the resolution in there 

Resolution_W=1920;Resolution_H=1080;

thats for 1080p
