roguetrooper 201 Posted September 30, 2014 Indeed, sometimes I wish you could have more character slots (when I feel like testing other styles of gameplay but don't want to give up my fully military eqipped character). But somehow I think, the style of the game and the gameplay should allow only one character per player at a time (instead of the two in different view modes). Having different kinds of servers somehow just clutters up everything unneccessarily. The two types of view modes might be combined into a single one: Third person is generally available, but you can't do anything in it: no HUD elements, no inventory, no weapon switch, no firing/attacking, no hotkeys, nothing can be taken or dropped. Maybe even the angle of head movement (view) might be restricted a bit (in 3rdp). Simply nothing else would be possible than moving and looking. And switching between 1st and 3rd might take some seconds (3-5, maybe even random each time) while the screen is faded out and in and the character can't move or change stance meanwhile (while switching). All this could be very easy and quickly implemented. So when you chose 3rdp, you can have it all the time, but you have to deal with sever trade-offs; making you think which view mode to chose before you enter the NWAF, Berezino or Zelenogorsk on a crowded server. kavemandayz 14 Posted September 30, 2014 I'm pretty sure that's the point of having private shards, which they are in the process of working on for full implementation.
doomdude1 48 Posted September 30, 2014 One of the things I loved about WarZ was the fact you had multiple characters (and a global inventory). You could have a character or two for serious gameplay with your friends or a clan and just have a one to f*ck about with, try new tactics or just do some light-hearted surviving and not have to lose everything once you die. One of the main reasons I stopped playing DayZ several months ago (though I started playing again) was that I managed to get two fully geared characters and realized any gameplay would result me in losing my maxed out military loot and that I was sentenced to just scavenging for food or looking for a fight.
