Should I keep the CZ 550?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i've been surviving so far, have gathered a good supply of cans and soda and a water bottle.

Now i found a CZ 550 a while ago, and i was so excited, i threw away my Winchester, thinking the sniper was rare... well it isnt.

So no i regret my decision. Should I?

I am about to move inland witha friend, hes shooting a crossbow and a makarov. Should i keep looking for winchesters (or equal) or has the snipers its strenghts, execpt for bandits?

Im more of a freidnly survivor than a bandit, so I look at PvP only at defense.

I fee lterribly weak with the sniper. I mean, i cannot shoot someone unless hes far away. I would need a good sidearm to suceed. Buti dont have one.

So what do you thing? The CZ 550 is a hunting weapon... will i be able to hunt better? Will i be able to defend myself good enough? Or is the CZ (or any sniper) useless in survival gameplay? Your thoughts please!

Thank you

As soon as you drop the CZ - you will find masses of ammo in every loot stack, of course ;)

Decision depends on your backpack.

Rifles take 10 slots. +ammo

Pistols need 5 slots. +ammo

The only Pro on the CZ is range.

Loud weapon. Hmmm. Send your friend in looting while you check the outside of an area + provide information for your mate. -Crossbow lawl.

If it does not fit your style of play, switch to winchester, as it is far more useful in cities. Quieter, more ammo.

so now i exchanged it for the double barrelled shotgun... was that a good move? I heard you can now stack the slugs and its not terribly loud i heard... what do you think?

Its useful for protecting your friend, but its not easy to use. You need to calibrate the range on that thing for every shot, and you probably need a rangefinder to know what range to calibrate it too in the first place.

My advice, unless you're gonna go all out and learn how to use it, drop the CZ. There are other Sniper Rifles in the game with built in range finders, and there's even a Silenced one.

Calculate your range?ISn't just lifting the weapon slightly for distance?I mean alot of weapons have grade scales where you just aim up a bit depending on distance.Dont see a reason for zeroing functions on weapons when you can just have a scale on optics.Could be waaaaaaaaaay off base here. LOL

If you have a good sidearm (M1911 or at least a Revolver) then you don't need to throw your CZ. Also,if you have a friend,he can be the offensive player (with Winchester) and you can be the defensive (with sniper)

Well I'm horrible at judging distance without a rangefinder, so that's probably just me =P

Swapped my CZ for a Lee Enfield the first chance I got.

Simple answer, no, complete bullshit.

Keep it only if you have a huge amount of space left (minimum alice pack).

*Spent the last hour looking for a CZ550*.

A 308 magnum round entering the side of a bandit's head does not make it useless. In fact a lot of the time if I see someone in the treeline and they don't look geared but do have a CZ550 (One that I don't need) I'll move on and not engage, not worth the risk vs the reward.

TL;DR - Bullets are for people, not zombies, and a CZ550 has fat bullets.

Wrong. You can use the horizontal marks as a rangefinder.
