J4G 92 Posted September 26, 2014 What do you use to open your cans?If you open cans with axe, theres usually from 30 to 50% food left. That might be your problem?
grindstone50k 208 Posted September 27, 2014 I don't get how you can starve to death at the moment. Seriously. There is food like EVERYWHERE. Looking forward to the whine-wars once this game actually becomes a survival game and as hard as it's supposed to be...It's called "being bad at the game". People whining about dying, about how "hard" the zombies are, KOS, etc. I know it's hurts and it's not very nice, but the bottom line is that people are just bad players. solodude23 649 Posted September 27, 2014 I didn't say killed, I said hit. I could've made that clearer, I guess. I just found it amazing that someone had NEVER lost their healthy status since the update they added the healthy status. ;)Gotcha, I thought you were referring to where he said that he'd never been killed by a zombie. You were plenty clear. ;)

MIKEMONSTER 5 Posted September 27, 2014 Yeah I have to say when you are hypothermic and dying of starvation all thoughts of is this player friendly or enemy goes out the window. You immediately just run up to them and beg for help, even if they have a gun on their back.

People whining about dying, about how "hard" the zombies are, KOS, etc. I know it's hurts and it's not very nice, but the bottom line is that people are just bad plaZombies aren't hard (unless you just spawned in and REALLY can't find a melee weapon lol), KOS is normal (not that I agree with it) and to die of starvation/hypothermia should also be a threat but to die that quickly of either with max health is preposterous! I know for a fact that you could live much longer irl. Now, I'm not saying that you should be able to run around for several days without food, or take forever to succumb to hypothermia (you can still move after 30 minutes if you were submerged in icy water), what i'm saying is, please just give me some more time! Maybe allow me to wrap myself up in blankets, which are in each and every house, and you can't even use them. Maby give me five hours to find food after entering the "very hungry" state. Oh, and why should I have to eat 3 cans of food to get me from hungry to NOTHING after spawning? Irl you could eat two and be completely full! You know what I mean? Balance is important, but they didn't find it. Yet...
grindstone50k 208 Posted September 27, 2014 Since coastal spawns are back, so again the rule of leaving the coast ASAP and heading inland is a rule of thumb again. Also, this isn't a sim. Lastly, balancing will be focused on later, usually done in Beta stage. If you're having that much trouble with the game, it might be wise to leave it for a while and come back when it's closer to completion or handicap yourself to an "easier level" by joining low population servers. gibonez 3633 Posted September 27, 2014 I am noticing a trend with people dying of hunger and thirst. I see this as a great sign that some of the gameplay mechanics surrounding survival are getting better fleshed out. Hunger, disease, zombies, injuries should be the main thing killing your player and players being the minority of your deaths. Not by preventing pvp but by making everything harsher, everything less abundant and the requirements to be healthy larger.
Judopunch 523 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) No energized bar, just plain which I think could've lasted longer. As far as I know you can survive for several days without food.when you start your 'energy' is at something like 500, the cap is 20,000 or something. To reach that cap you need to eat over 500 kewis or something like 80+ cans of beans. You gain lime green energized at something like 5000. As a new spawn your going to need like 10 cans of food MINIMUM to get going, or something like 30 vegies. Vegies give you WAYYY more water then 'food'. For more information check here Eat all the things. Oh, and being cold makes you hungry way faster. Edited September 27, 2014 by Judopunch

TwinSpire 49 Posted September 28, 2014 In 400+ hours have never even came close to starving to death... You're doing something wrong Same here... pretty hard to starve. I find its pretty easy to find enough non-canned food to feed me until I find SOMETHING to open cans with.
