Cpanther 221 Posted September 25, 2014 Recently what happens between Experimental and Stable got me thinking... When you play in Experimental everything is different, people KoS less, is more friendly players, more little groups going around, but when you play in Stable is chaotic...everyone kills everyone, no one is friendly.. groups never form in any way..and i believe is because the Experimental branch have a smaller Hive, with about 50 servers that are constantly full.. server hopping doesn't works in Experimental, loot is more rare across the full Hive. So instead of just having "one" massive Hive in stable, with "one" massive Central Economy..why not just replicate what is going on in Experimental by having multiple Public Hives with Multiple Central Economies ? Richard III in Leicester 200 Posted September 25, 2014 Sounds interesting, a bit like how vilayer had their own public hive for the mod alongside the official public hive. Maybe you do get a 'better' (ie less twatish) standard of player in exp, possibly because those are the players who care more about the game and want to help it to develop, and want to be first to test new features even if they are buggy. So they are all in the same boat and of a similar mindset. Whereas in stable there's much more of a broad spectrum of people playing and no community and so you are much more likely to meet people who couldn't care less, who will troll first roleplay second and be happy as long as they've got a good gun animation and plenty of ammo. Back to your main point, I think the point is valid, and to me makes sense. I'd still doubt if it would make any difference though in the future. Maybe they could set up regional sub hives? Think that would help?

Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted September 25, 2014 Here's the issue. Entitlement. Renting the servers for DayZ is not cheap by any means so there are going to be those who demand that their server/s have every piece of loot on them and not spread out into a central loot economy because they are paying for it. How is this going to work for people who eventually be locking their servers? Will they not be able to have access to all the loot?

No idea how BI is planning to do all this..but is just a suggestion based in what i observed playing in Experimental and then Stable.

I get that it's a suggestion and there is nothing wrong with what you suggested but how do they plan on doing a central loot economy with private servers? Do they all get tied into one? Personally I believe BiS should be using the millions they made from DayZ and be forking over and running the servers themselves. That way they can monitor the hacking and whatever other bullshit that goes on instead of relying on people making false claims. That of course is my opinion tho. I plan on getting my server back in the next couple of months again.
