Computer shutdowns

Recommended Posts

Hi !

Since today's update my computer keeps shutting down after a few minutes playing, it has never happened before.

My specs are:

Windows 7 32 bits

4go ram

cpu: amd phenom x4 955 3.2ghz

gpu: ati hd 5700

As you can see it's not high end hardware but it's enough to play at normal or low quality.

Any ideas as to what can cause the crashes?

ps: If that can help I also suffer from graphic glitches like lot of other people, but only in certain parts of the map: the fps drop suddenly (and drastically), objects load slowly or not at all and my character looks plain ugly( 3d model and texture at lowest quality possible)

Thank you !

Upon restart can you get into the bios and check the temperature of your processor? Sounds like it may be overheating. Does it happen with DayZ only?

This is exactly what it is.

I had the exact same thing. Basically the graphics card is shutting down to protect itself from melting. The op needs to clean his fan etc.

msi afterburner will give temp readings in game or in windows http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm so you can confirm.
