CJFlint 357 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) I would say neutural for me. It treat every encounter different. Person by person. Server by server. I don't care for tags in dayz, I don't believe in "Hero" or "Bandit" tags. I don't care for labeling players. But if I had to label my self I would say I am a survivor and a sniper. Thats pretty much my play style. I really think we need to move beyond this "Hero" and "Bandit" labeling of players. This isn't the mod and its not in the mechanics, its sort of limiting to just keep using these dumb labels. Lets move past this. The SA allows for many play style types, and as it develops there will be even more. So why is it always "bandit" or "hero", thread after thread? Its dumb. This game is 100% game play freedom with in the confines of its engine, why do we keep limiting with these dumb labels? I'm glad I don't think about labeling players when I play, I think it increases the duration of my avatars life by allot. When see other players its 100% posture and body language Im looking at. I could give 2 shits what there play style is. Last thing Im thinking about is this player is a "Hero" or "Bandit". Its all about there actions at that vary moment which causes me to react. If they are making an effort to show there freindly by voice prox and body language. Or they have there gun out and posturing like they are going to shoot..Thats what I'm looking at and weighing in my mind that could cause me to engage another player or let them be. DayZ has no rewards, no badges. Its you live moment to moment, encounter to encounter. I do not consider ethics what so ever when I play. ianderson07@live.com 2 Posted November 5, 2014 It seems to me that this a PvP game. You may set your own teams (factions, clans or just your friends), but at the end of the day the only objective is to survive. Its not like the zombies are any threat once you get geared up, and thank god. Theyre so jerky and unsynced that it would be a pain in the ass to deal with. Human players are the ultimate challenge, the strongest threat to survive agaisnt and compete for resouces. Shots could come from anywhere, 360 degrees from any floor or any hill. The constant threat of attackers is what provides the rush. Having to constantly have ears and eyes open builds the atmosphere that makes the firefights so crazy. Hearing a shot in the distance can really get you pumped, or scare you shitless depending. After this game gets some more progress and we can have massive clan or faction wars, or otherwise another enemy to defeat then i wont kill everything i see. Until then, theres nothing else to do. Only thing i wont shoot are fresh spawns, because getting spawn camped just sucks.
Death By Crowbar 1213 Posted November 5, 2014 Neutral to Rather Hero. I guess that would make me something like Chaotic Neutral? No, I guess that would make me more Lawful Neutral.
Combine (DayZ) 247 Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) 200 votes, that is enough for me. You can keep voting of course, but the result is interesting. About half of all who took part seem to be "neutral" or mix up their gaming, sometimes good, sometimes outright hostile. That, it seems, opens the path for some more votes. I'll think of something and add some more if need be. Edited November 6, 2014 by Combine
