toggle stance key please!

id like to have the option in the controls menu to toggle crouched and standing. especially useful in first person mode. think bf4. having to find the right key in a panic to get up or get down can get you killed pretty easily. a toggle key would make it faster. i usually put my alt key as a toggle for crouch or standing and when you hold it on bf4 you go into prone. much more efficient. it would make the gameplay much quicker too.

battlefield 4 is a fast paced fps that's completely unrealistic and designed for fun and insta fast shoot and die gameplay. Dayz on the other hand provides realistic and real life paced gameplay. Thus, I don't think we should copy anything from BF4.

you dissmissed the idea as soon as i said bf4 a toggle function is hardly asking the game to be remade. nearly every game i've played with has a toggle function. its like they forgot to add it. and when i say every game i mean nearly every game. it doesnt have to be a fps to have a toggle crouch feature. and its not that difficult to implement. its just a case of having the option to bind a key to fit my play style.

when your in a rush from zombies or other players in a squad pressing the wrong button can kill you. and if you press the wrong button you get stuck in an animation loop and then the zombie or player kills you. no its not difficult but it would be nice to have the option to be able to assign a toggle. making my playstyle more efficient.

So you want the developers to re-write the code on how controls are worked for your individual playstyle?  Gotcha.  Unfortunately this isn't an arcade shooter and their controls are going to most likely stay the same way as they have been in pretty much all of their games.   You could also remap those keys to something you find a lot more easier to use.  Ctrl for crouch and perhaps shift for stand.  They are large buttons and would be less of a chance of screwing up.

thank you yeh i mean toggle and release wasnt what i was going for but i suppose the option should be there. i just wanted one button to toggle different stances or to hold the button to go into prone. and a light tap to go from crouch to standing or standing to crouch.

You have more control over your movement by using multiple keys. Tap for crouch, hold for prone is designed for console really.

The controls will obviously need to be dumbed down to be transferred to console. It's not at all necessary when playing with a keyboard though IMO.

Are those controls your girlfriend? You are awfully possessive and protective over them.

He means that multiple functions will have to be mapped to a single button on a controller and not be as spread out as a keyboard, hence dumbing them down.

Well, your the one who said this isnt Battlefield, wont stop and listen to his side, and cannot control your language. I also find your insults hilarious, they relfect your childish mindset. All he is doing is defending HIS standpoint while YOU moan and complain. And I can read, its how I went to school as an armorer, had a 3.4 GPA, and live a rather successful life. So I suggest you just sit this out and stop your language, unless you want to be reported twice in the same day.

Spreading misinformation and lies is also frowned upon.  I gave him a reasonable explanation as to why, OP stomped his feet, end of story.
