roguetrooper 201 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) I have not cared about persistence so far. As far as I have understood, players can deploy tents and store items in it? Do those tents disappear when the player logs out?Are they only on the server where the player is currently logged in? leviski 2152 Posted September 21, 2014 What its Supposed to do :Items dropped on the ground will remain there, until they degrade into a ruined state, backpacks are supposed to stay awhile longer. :Tents never despawn and will remain in the placed spot forever (Or until someone steals it) I tried testing persistence with a backpack, but the next day I logged on the backpack was gone, either someone found it in the bush I placed it in, or it despawned. Im going to go with "It despawned"

I don't know about tents, because I haven't found one yet, but everything else I've dropped (including backpacks) has been vanishified upon a server restart/crash. Revocane 38 Posted September 21, 2014 They either should've pushed back the update until they fixed persistence or not of been harping on how its been added. The only situation it DOES work in is completely useless because the server not only cannot connect to the hive, but has screwed up loot spawns so you won't be able to find anything in the server anyways. Its pointless.
ljlee256 0 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) Yeah, persistence not only doesn't work, but its rendered a good 15% or more of the servers unsafe/unusable due to character data wiping, or completely removed loot from them, it's hilariously sad.Addition: I have found a tent, I have deployed it, I have put stuff in it, and I have had it completely vanish without a trace, was sort of pissed, only sort of because I wasnt expecting it to work tbh :P but still sort of due to how hard it was the find the god damn thing.
