Ceallach 56 Posted September 18, 2014 Loving the new update. Although there are a bunch of things and mechanics I am kinda not getting. 1. Is it normal that no matter what I am wearing I am either slowly cooling off or heating up? Because of that I am actually packing two sets of clothes (Rider's Jacket and Raincoat) beacuse they both give me different messages and levels of protection. 2. Does the Fireman jacket have the same properties as the raincoat? Is it waterproof? Thanks!
q.S Sachiel 470 Posted September 18, 2014 Not sure if it's been changed in .49 or earlier, but raincoat didn't protect me from rain.Moving can heat you up, but I think it's dependant on what you're wearing and whether you're wet. I was decked out in gorka kit with a mountain backpack and damp, while running i was 'slowly getting colder'.Then once i had on my UK assault vest, dry in a barn, i went prone. Was getting slowly cold. Rolled with Q E and each time i rolled once, i was slowly getting warm, then almost immediately slowly getting cold.Time of Day seems to have some effect, not sure if indoors outdoors matters, but it seems movement and wet definitely has an impact. Ceallach 56 Posted September 18, 2014 Odd, running about, moving and doing activities actually didn't help much - I was still freezing my ass off while running a fully clothed marathon ingame. As for the raincoat, I can testify that it worked against rain (at least for me). :)
johnny0964 (DayZ) 15 Posted September 18, 2014 Every piece of clothing has a heat value, and I mean everything. Of course I haven't found these out just yet, but they'll probably be on the wiki in the coming few days.
TwinSpire 49 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Above are some guides from EXP, not exactly what I have noticed but pretty close. So far I can say this is pretty annoying more then anything, going to give it some time/a chance though. Being wet is a prime way to get hypothermia, which is cool (lol). It just seems the servers I go on it's ALWAYS raining or will rain within 15min. My freshspawn was very close to dying due to hypothermia, for some reason I couldn't wring out anything buy my hat (I could this morning). I also didn't notice any difference sprinting for ages... oh it would be nice to have a thermometer, like a compass. q.S Sachiel 470 Posted September 18, 2014 there's a medical thermometer in game now so you can check your temp.I know woolen coats get your temp up pretty damned well. Was playing with a friend and they said after putting it on they didn't have any more cold issues.
karlkurtz32 59 Posted September 18, 2014 Hopefully this gets better. So far it's pretty annoying. "I'm getting cold.""I'm getting warm.""I'm getting cold.""I'm getting warm.""I'm getting cold.""I'm getting warm."
