tyler_1111@hotmail.com 0 Posted May 14, 2012 me and my friend bought arma 2 just for this mod (even bought the dlc for better textures) and that makes me wonder how much money goes to the dev team?
-=Grunt=- (DayZ) 0 Posted May 14, 2012 It's a mod. I don't think any cash goes to the dev team. (Just like in other games' mods)Although the mod's team leader, Rocket, is already working at Bohemia Interactive Studios. So who knows...
Felix (DayZ) 21 Posted May 14, 2012 Mods are generally staffed by volunteers.
Reklin 56 Posted May 14, 2012 I'd like to assume Rocket gets something from BIS due to the influx of Arma CO sales which is down to him and this mod, but I don't know how BIS run.
JinxX 11 Posted May 14, 2012 I'm just hoping Bohemia Interactive Studios sees the potential this mod has and how they got so many sales from the articles promoting it they'll try to either (1) Make a standalone Zombie Simulator based on the Arma Engine, or (2) put some more resources towards it to get more sells. They've got a gem here, rough albeit since its Alpha but they really could make plenty of money by creating a truly first of its kind zombie survival game. As good as Arma series is not many gamers have the patience required for this kind of Simulator. Throw in Zombies, friends, survival, fear, and a giant map and people will flock like wild fire. tyler_1111@hotmail.com 0 Posted May 14, 2012 hmmm because i think this game has the potential to blow up like minecraft and really motivate the devs with shit ton of cash. like millions $$$ of cash...we'd also get a shit ton more servers and overall the game will just get better and better faster as more and more money was poured in.to the above post you said not many gamers will have the patience, i disagree, pc gamers have been looking for "that" survival horror games since the release of resident evil except now many games is just copy pasta and now this game suddenly pops up and youd see post from sherdog, world of warcraft forum, swtor forum, and many many more forum just talking about it... and the thing is many simply just loved it
Jaleno 4 Posted May 14, 2012 Just a suggestion, make a donation tab on the website? I for sure would dish out some skrilla :)
tyler_1111@hotmail.com 0 Posted May 14, 2012 no i dont think donation would be enough, you can tell by steam sales that arma pops up in ranks that many people simply bought the game for this mod.i paid like 40 bucks including the dlc (and i dont even play the dlc i just got it because of the texture buff because i have a gtx580sli machine) simply and ONLY for this mod and a cut should fund this mod i just think... same goes for my friend he paid like 29.99 for the co and JUST plays this mod. i think a cut should help fund the dev cost and get all the legal shit done before some big ass greedy corporation like activision and ea tries to steal the idea and capitalize on it....Minecraft blew up like this too through words of mouth and notch is now a 33 million dollar multimillionaire...... That's why it wasn't such a crazy commercial success, but patience people will most definitely have when they're terrified trying to survive.

Again, I am not aware of the internal structure and goingons inside BIS so for all I know they could be receiving a little money.. Nonetheless I don't give a fuck and want to donate to the team that has created my new favorite mod =)
tyler_1111@hotmail.com 0 Posted May 14, 2012 people are cheap and never donatebut people loves to buy stuffi never donate..but i would gladly buy stuff...same goes for many othersthe thing i feel is that donations while might be enough to maintain servers it wouldnt be enough to give the devs big houses, fast cars, and especially many many beautiful wimminzs haha

tyler_1111@hotmail.com 0 Posted May 14, 2012 i just hope that bistudio isnt twiddling their thumbs getting all the $$$ while the devs work their ass off for nothing and one day just suddenly give up the project because noone likes to work for free. nothing motivate devs like cold hard cash haha
