Ammo is way too scarce

Recommended Posts

Especially after destroying a 3 man squad.

Is this normal or am I a duper/svhopper

I think ammo should be ultra rare in all honesty. With the increased zombie spawns in towns and such it REALLY should be a point for the player to decide if risking a single round is worth it. In a real apocalypse you dont have the luxury of jumping dimensions to get more ammo. You should be stuck with a few rusty rounds left and an axe on standby. Not only will this help KOS but will also make ammo more valuable and not worth risking

Yeah. Several things need to happen...

1. Ammunition (and most items for that matter) needs to degrade over time, thereby creating a lasting demand for it vice a static point at which you're fully geared until death.

2. Magazines, ammunition, and weapons need to remain as separate spawns.

3. Magazines need to spawn without ammunition most of the time.

4. And yeah, all of the above need to be made a tad bit rarer depending on what abilities they confer upon the player (i.e. balance)

There are also tangential issues (like server hopping, duping, loot management systems, and private/public hives) which weigh on rarity in general as well.

even if you aren't a duper, people are duping so it's impossible to balance things until duping is killed.

I have seen zero sks ammo playing on exp for the last few days. I've seen a lot of evidence of people duping e.g. 10 empty 30 round mags in a barracks. Unlimited smersh backpacks full of .45 ammo at green mountain etc.

i remember in Fallout u were able to craft your own ammo at a bench.

Things for crafting this shud be rare und u really shud think about what ammo you wannt to create.

For example : Small caliber (9 mm 0.22) needs less needs less Gunpowder as AK Ammo (7.62x39) or Sniper rounds (7.62x51) needs much more gunpowder.

For example. percussion cap , Gunpowder ,plumb and shells for Shotgun ammo.

What are you thinking about this guys ?

@freethink

I agree. i found last time a AK 101 with full 4 mags and 2 full Drummags ^^

5.56 mm is really rare so he musst duped his items bcoz i found in 10 hours playtime only 20 shots at the airfield.

You might not be a duper but almost assuredly some of those drum mags are duped.  If it looks suspicious why take it?

Uh, my group raided the NWAF and Balota yesterday, and found 12 drum mags, they spawn all over the place. The 30 round mags are all over the place too.

You can find drum mags all over the place. Not only at military loot spawns. Yesterday I found one in a jeep near Karmanovka.

It didn't look suspicious to me, if u pay attention u would realise the whole topic is sarcastic. Before wiping the 3 man squad, a single NWAF tent run already gave me 2 drum mags and around 5 30 rnd mags.

Suspicious is the M4 mags with 6.036E4 rounds in them. Drum mags are the new "random pair of shoes" in terms of spawn frequency.

There's a very interesting bug with the loot respawning systems happening. All these items spawn exactly where the other did, so it looked like one item. But when you looked in vicinity or spread them out it became apparent how many items there actually were.

My friend and I found a box of 5.56 in a UAZ that did the exact same thing. I think we spread it out in the ground and found it was about 15 boxes. Same thing happened with an AK101 mag, or so we thought it was just one. We went to Chapaevk and killed a whole lot of zombies.

Yeah I found the same at green mountain with a smersh backpack full of 45 ammo that I could take and it would instantly reappear. Eugene (sp?) of bi says he's fully aware of it.

I'm glad that the game itself is just doing the duping now.

With all the duping going on, it's just stupid saying there is too much ammo spawning and it need to be more rare.
