Low FPS, Poor performance.

Recommended Posts

Bought Dayz couple of mounths a go, i can't get better FPS no matter what i do. I know it is alpha, but i have the similair FPS issue in Arma as well. The low FPS makes Arma and Dayz it unplayable. I have browsed the forums and tried this and that, but with no success.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Supposed to be 500 right there, you didn't make a reply only for that right?

No. was awaiting a reply. But im going to need more info than this. I need fps numbers. Because as you mentioned the game is poorly optimized but your rig should run it fairly well. But like I said. Need numbers or can't help.

I am getting 10-20 fps with everything on low (in towns) It doesn't matter if i put everything on max or low, it's more or less the same FPS, give or take a few fps.. Sometimes tho, the FPS gets poco loco and fires to the sky and i get a peak at 40 fps (in towns). I get about 40-50 fps stable in forrest. Even with the 40-50 Fps in forrest the movement and the general feeling is Laggish and unplayable. It feels like i am using a low end PC. I have the same issue in Arma3 as well.

What i have done so far.

Overklocked my Graphics card, but nothing changes. My I7 is overklocked to about 4.2, but i tried to set it to default settings with no change at all. I have tried different config settings and adjusted more or less everything mentioned in other forum posts. I have changed the DayZ launch options as well: -NoSplash -NoPause -CpuCount -ExThreads" -maxMem = and so on, but with no change.

It get the feeling nothing changes when i change something. Graphic card controll panel settings are set to Program override (not quite sure what it's called in english, but games controll the settings).

So, yeah. I am really scratching my head on this, specially when i experience the same issue in Arma3.

EDIT: Worth mentioning. When i'm ingame and klick ESC. The shaders in each corner of the screen goes away and gives me about 10-12 fps boost. Not sure if it's possible to disable these shaders tho. This is more or less the only noticable fps i see.

Hm. That is odd. I would say its just the server??? My best guess? I mean because if your fps is like that i presumeit server side. So try a server with a good ping and see if anything changes?

Tried plenty of servers. Low pinged and higher ones. Still got this crappy experience. It's funny tho, it's in both Arma3 and Dayz. Arma3 should be somewhat more up to speed then DayZ or is the game just a desease for some computer specs?

Update..

My FPS issue is solved, somehow. I knew something was not right, i could feel it in my bones when playing. I did a full format and reinstalled the game. My fps is 65-70 (towns) stable and 90+ stable in forrest in the middle of nowhere. Maybe my config was bugged? Maybe i did something wrong? Maybe something was eating my computer performance? Who knows, all i know is that i run DayZ smooth on high settings now, not perfect, but smooth. I expect the final bugs and crap are caused by the game not being finnished and yet  to be optimized. I have yet to try Arma3 tho, i'm gona install that later on to give it a go.
