Server reset and character was reset

This is the first time ive had an issue like this and i was just wondering what may have happened. I was on a public NJ 3rd person server when it reset. i joined on the same server while my buddy was still there to continue playing on the server. when i loaded in, i had been reset as a fresh spawn. Im not sure what happened but its quite iritating as i had spent too many hours just trying to get geared.

Seems to be an old issue that has come back up, try logging off then back on to the same server, some times fixes it

IT WAS last night and i no longer remember the server unfortunately. I also tried logging in and out 3 times after and non those fixed it
