irishroy 1347 Posted August 13, 2014 ...Added lifetime... I think "small" items, that lie "unprotected" on the server will survive a server-restart, but will disappear or degrade (get damaged) with the time, whereas items in tents will not get damaged and will not disappear. Zamjin 1 Posted August 13, 2014 how do i know that the server is hosted by BI ? Are these the ones with for example 2-12 DE ?

ChainReactor 922 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) how do i know that the server is hosted by BI ? Are these the ones with for example 2-12 DE ? BI-hosted servers that will have persistance enabled have the "PERSISTANCE:ON" in their server names. Another thing that should be clarified is the exact difference between "Item persistance" and "persistant storage". I think they got mixed up a lot since the last update. AFAIK, item persistance means the mechanic, that items stay on a server but will degrade over time, eventually vanishing and making place for new items, while persistant storage means what most expect from tents. The first got initially implemented now all across exp and stable, the latter is fully available on exp but only on official servers on stable due to testing the system. dashender7 78 Posted August 14, 2014 Can someone please confirm whether or not any other items besides tents (protector cases, backpacks, ammo boxes, or other) can be used the same way tents can to store items indefinitely with persistence? Has anyone tried this?
rainf 76 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Sourced from RedditEugenhartonBuild & Environment Engineer"Okay so we explaines this a few times , but here it is.Persistence saves every item not only containers. Storage is saved as well. Some items last longer than others and containers last well almost infinite amount od time. If they are used that is".NOTE!He also said ONLY on servers which say "Persistence" on them in the server list. Edited August 14, 2014 by Bricks
dashender7 78 Posted August 14, 2014 I have seen the quote from Eugenharten and thank you for the reply. It just seems inconclusive and maybe kind of unlikely? I hope it's true that one could fill a backpack and stash it somewhere rather than use a stupid huge tent that is bound to be found quickly. I'm hoping that someone can actually confirm this at some point after having tried it.
