Exodor 10 Posted August 13, 2014 I'm wondering it tents work right now sinc the latest patch. // i've heard some people saying they don't but if you place your stuff on the ground it will be there forever - even during server restarts, IS this right? irishroy 1347 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) Nope. They wanted to make items persistent on the stable with a hotfix, they said (but that was like almost 2 weeks ago xD) So as far as I know, there was no hotfix, and with no hotfix no persistent items. Ultimoses 110 Posted August 13, 2014 The stable update that is coming right now is meant to fix persistence on all official servers (no clan servers or such, the DE, FR, GB, US (and so on) ones). So it should work now.

Ultimoses 110 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) The first reply was posted before the changelog of 0.48 was published. Now, it HAS been published, and it states, that the persistence is working (on official servers). irishroy's reply is outdated ;) EDIT: Changelog is out since 03:52 PM. Exodor 10 Posted August 13, 2014 ''It states'' alright time to clarify once more because i've stocked up on items and i don't want to lose them. So on OFFICIAL DayZ servers Persistant Storage (As in put stuff in tents and they don't disappear after restart) is WORKING. (just a simple ''Yes/No'')But about my previous questions that my friends stated (That stuff will stay there forever if i place them on the ground) is that true or false? foxdie_01 121 Posted August 13, 2014 FFS can anyone answer the question with a yes or no? Do Tent and tent content persist between server restarts?
spartacusrex 88 Posted August 13, 2014 So my clan server isn't an official one? How do I know if a server is official?
lautaross13 2 Posted August 13, 2014 Excuse my ignorance, how do i differ an official server from a private one?
RagedDrew 209 Posted August 13, 2014 Servers with persistent storage will have "persistent enabled" in their title, I tried using persistent as a filter tag but didn't show up so I just searched the list until I found one that had that in the title, then took note of the name "DayZ nl 02-22" or something like so then I used "DayZ" for my filter tag and found a bunch of servers with persistent turned on. In a nutshell use "DayZ" in the filter under "host" From what I can gather, is due to how important user data is, they want to test this outside of the EXP build but don't want mass hate for people losing gear if something was to bug out so they restricted the storage to official servers only so they can keep an eye on it.
hells high 676 Posted August 14, 2014 Servers will have "Persistence: ON" in the server name if they have persistence enabled. Just filter for that in the "host" area.
trev186 389 Posted August 14, 2014 Tents are not working Tent itself does not despawn but bit by bit my oldest items I have looted which i left in my tent have despawned from it! The two or three items which despawned I have had for the longest. My suspicion is that after a set age items despawn when on the ground or in tent. The tent is preventing them from despawning any better than placing the item on the ground I know I was not robbed because the first time this happened I had a kitted M4 in there and all that disappeared was an AKM wooden buttstock which it as not the "rearrange gear" issue either cause there was enough space for it from where it disappeared. The second time I just sat outside my tent for at least 2 hours and checked and this time my folding AK buttstock disappeared. I confirmed that no one came into my tent and stole it AND it was not the "invisible inventory issue" it just completely vanished. I would advise against using tents this was tested on a server which has persistence enabled
dashender7 78 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Tents are not working Tent itself does not despawn but bit by bit my oldest items I have looted which i left in my tent have despawned from it! This is a bummer. Does anyone know if protector cases, backpacks, or any items besides tents are supposed to be able to store items with persistence the way tents are supposed to? Example: can you fill a backpack with loot and leave it somewhere and expect it to last and keep stored items the way the tents are supposed to?
