[Unanswered] - Microphone not working in game

Recommended Posts

So, like the topic says... I've made sure my mic is the default communication device. DayZ is set to run with admin privileges. Other VIOP programs work fine.

Some help would be appreciated.

Re-check your key bindings for in game VOIP, then attempt to test another mic if you have it and the Key bindings check was alright. If that fails, I'll keep looking for a solution for you.

Bindings work. The mic icon shows in game when I hit it. No other mic to test with. Like I said, it works fine everywhere else. The auto-adjust in audio settings also registers the mic's input; the input volume slider will change depending on how loud or softly I've spoken during the process.

Still cannot get the game to actually work with my headset mic. This is getting very frustrating, as it puts me at a severe disadvantage compared to players who have the game's VOIP working for them.

Again, just to be clear: all other VOIP/comms programs I use have no issues, the mic works just fine; people can hear me when I xmit. My PTT bindings work; I get the icon in game, and I have at least gotten feedback that other players see the icon as well. They can see my chat text also. The headset is the default communications device in windows 7. The game's auto-adjust also registers my input, as the input bar will raise or lower from it's starting setting depending on how softly or loudly I speak during the auto-adjust process. I have also made attempts with the input slider at max. Still no change.

did you try to increase your inputvolume ingame? (Audio-section)

I have same issue but it was my fault.

Yup, that was also stated in the previous post.

Okay, update: other players are hearing static now, but no voice. I guess that's a bit of forwards progress. Still not considering it a solution though.

Yes, that has also been done. No missing/corrupted files. Also, I could swear I'd already replied about that, but the post seems to have poofed. Or I was just too tired and didn't actually hit post... *headscratch*

Just turn up the VOIP volume control all the way up. I had the same problem and it fixed it. I think the mic setup turns it down way too low.

I had a similar issue when I first started playing. Resolved the issue by changing the Mic input from keyboard to MoBo. Rookie advice, but you never know!

Well, thanks for the attempts at least, everyone. I'd really like to see one of the Devs actually get in on this though. Which I suppose is rather unlikely to happen.
