There's too many items

One thing that bothered me a lot in both mod and SA is that we can pretty quickly get a lot of items, especially those who server jump.

In my opinion, you get hungry and thirsty way too fast. It's not realistic at all. Make food and water scarce, but increase the time needed to eat and drink.

Loot system is undergoing some major changes these days. Once these things are working right, they can start tweaking the living hell out of it to make it better.

I agree 100% with OP - way too easy to find food and soda atm. But rejoice, it'll change for the better soon!

Sure, make the equipment grind worse. Horrible idea. Like I really want to run most of the time looking for food and drink. It's bad enough weapons spawn without ammo (dumb as shit idea) already. Now we get blue tents to boot (camo or woodland green/brown would have been nice). I know more content is coming but it's a slow wait.

Grind? It takes me 20 - 40 minutes to get about 85% geared.. I consider 85% geared

 

1. Hunting backpack

2. Weapon w/ Ammo

3. 6 slot pants, 4 slot shirt, 6-8 slot Vest, hat, boots, gloves

4. Melee weapon (Splitting axe or Fireaxe)

5. Pistol

 

The only times I have to really hunt for gear is if I am trying to kit out an AKM/M4.

The "grind" is the fun part for me! Imo having good gear is boring. Getting good gear is fun.

Like 3 hours total on this character and only have a backpack some food and an axe.

 

So good.  This is how the game should be everything should take forever to find and acquire and once base building is a thing they should double up on this make things super rare to find since people will be able to horde what little they can find.

I totally agree with this bit.

 

Starvation should be much longer and slower, but it should have debilitating effects that stagger the process, rather than just being a ticking timer towards sudden unconsciousness. Similarly, the "Healthy" status needs to be much harder and take much longer to attain, again with staggered effects along the way.

 

This would give so much more depth to the survival aspect of the game, and I'm looking forward to when they start beefing up the health mechanics and adding stamina and such like.

One side effect of this though is that the dupers are going to have a field day. Picturing pass worded servers full of tents with duped gear for clans to retrieve after they yolo charge Berazino.
