Please fix the Performance. Massive FPS-drop in cities.

Hey guys.

 

Im slowly get pissed off while im roaming around cities.

In the Landsacape a have around 60 fps while cities are a Diashow or sometimes i get freezes while my client crashes or hangs while it can be killed by Taskman only.

Even in Villages i can feel a Massive FPS-drop.

I hate it to get F*cked while i am not able to defend my self.and the only thing is = Boom " YOU ARE DEAD"

 

I mean ok its an Alpha but that shud be fixed at first.

 

I am not whining but this is Annoying if u died a few times in a row bcoz of that and kills fun.

 

Maybe someone can help me out while they work on it.

IIRC the reasons are identified and the solution is on the roadmap but it makes no sense to "fix" it now because it will be changed in the future multiple times (the system) anyways - so welcome to the Alpha.

It has been a known issue for over 10 years...yes even OFP had that problem ( more details/more ai less frames ) even if not that severe. I wonder if they will ever solve that problem ( i think not because the problem has already been there for so long )

Now you know why no other games company have attempted a game like dayz where you can enter so many different buildings in a big city with such a large map, Even games like gta dont have many enterable buldings and lots of loot spawning around.

 

The Dayz team are making something unique and pushing the boundaries that other games companies wont dare tread so give em some slack and be thankfull you even have what we have so far... :)

I never said this is Crap ^^

They just should take it under control. its useless to have so many buildings when most systems can´t handle it or u need a 1000$ GPU ^^

No question i like Dayz and thats one reason why i Registered an Account here

And yeah for sure its an Alpha and they are Woking on it.

I opened this Thread in hope to find a Solution to play in Cities instead of Roaming around wilderness.

You mean like h1z1 that can run at 100+ fps and planetside 2. 

 

Anyways.. it will probably never be fixed because it's an outdated engine flaw which has existed in every arma game.

I also think that they should fix the fps problem, but there is still not the time for it. That will be done in the next development stage. First the focus is on implementing all features and getting them to work together. After that has been solved they should work on the performance. 10 fps in cities, is sometimes disturbing but that is how it is for now.

 

I do not understand all the comparisons with h1z1. Maybe that will also be a good game, but for now it doesn't really exist for the broad masses to access. Once it gets to early access, we can compare. For now there are only promises what it should be. We compare seeds to green tomatoes.
