Airfield 50 Posted August 7, 2014 Hello, so I thought I would come on to tell you guys about the most kick-ass experience I have had playing DayZ since I first bought the game. I have experienced 1100 of pure heroine, but this tops it off. My journey starts at Bolota. I started up at Svet at like 7:00 AM in the morning. I out on my auto-run key (a nickel and some poker chips) and casually ate my cereal until I reached Elektro. From there, I scouted the surrounding area, picked up an empty 1911 from the police station, and continued my trek to Bolota. Upon arrival, I noticed an obvious sign of entrance. The main gate that you come onto from the road was wide open, and so was the closest prison doors. I crouched and stalked across the wall and positioned myself in a bush. After 3 minutes of waiting, I notice 4 player in a close formation sprinting across the airfield from the farthest prison towards the barracks. On top of the ATC, another player sits with a Mosin. I bid my time and watch them recklessly scour the barracks, tents, and town of Bolota. They all group up at the water well in Bolota and are too busy filling up their stomachs to notice me slink into a nearby bush. After they finish, they begin to travel down the road towards the direction of the nearby abandoned military base. I take a few quick swigs of water, down a few cans of food, and pursue. I keep a good 300 meters at all time. As I walk, I take a tally of their gear and headcount. There are a total of 7 survivors. The sniper had a Mosin with a scope. The odd man out had a PM73-RAK and a Carbine slung on his back. The others have a mix of AK's and M4 with drum mags/double-mags and full attachments. They are all wearing OREC uniform and an assortment of derpy hats they think make them unique. They, as I expected, stopped at the Military base and skimmed over the loot, where I managed to pick up a bat they left behind. From there, I start my devious planning. The key to the whole moment was what happened next. The leader of the pack, or whom I assume was the leader, took a sudden turn off the road into a thicket of trees. The whole squad was obviously using a third-party software to communicate, as no word was uttered. One of the members of the squad cracked out a firemaking kit, and everyone went to work chopping and cutting some stones and wood. In 10 minutes, they had a fully functioning fire going. 2 squadies split off and the crack of Mosin shots in the distance could be heard. When they arrived back, the meat was put on the fire, and everyone sat around it like in real life. One of the members fell back into the trees. This was my time. I assumed he was going to take a screenshot, so I took this moment to get behind him. In all honesty, I don't have a rats ass idea on how he didn't hear my footsteps. His squadies must have been yelling in the TeamSpeak I suppose. Anyways, I take my bat, raise it, burst from the trees, and land 2 precise swings on his head. He collapses, and I enter his inventory, and in 5 seconds, I have his PM73-RAK in my hands. He has a full 25 round clip. I tap a round into his head, and then crouch, taking aim at the first threat. I tap fire 3-5 rounds into a nearby squadie who was slinging an AKM. Then, I pivot and fire into another man who was standing with his M4. That left 3 presumed dead, and 5 more rounds in my mag. One of the squadies raised his M4 and sprayed me at 5 meters. He hits me twice before I fire the remainder of my clip into his body. 4 dead, 3 to go. There where 2 M4 carriers and the Mosin sniper remaining. I considered the sniper the least of threats at close range, so I made it my priority to take out the 2 M4 carriers first. One was still sitting, presumably either A.) lagging, or B.) glitch combat logging. I run over and take cover behind his glitch sitting body, just as the retreating M4 carrier sprays in my direction. He kills my human meat shield, giving me enough time to pull out my 1911. I quickly stand up and rapid fire in his direction. I get a lucky shot that puts him down, not for sure at the time if it was for good. Finally, my attention rests on my final opponent, the sniper. Just as I down the last M4 carrier, a Mosin bullet goes haywire to my right from 20 meters. He is leaning from behind a tree. I look up at the ceiling, pray to god, whip out my bat, and rush. He fires another 2 shots at my weaving and sprinting mass. I rush up to the tree and crouch as he leans and takes another shot. I swing 3 times into his vest as he shoots at me. Finally, I knock him out, take his Mosin, and shoot him in the skull. I walk over to one of the M4 carriers and pluck his M4 off his body. One by one, a round is landed into all 7 of the downed, presumably bandits. I did a quick review of their incredibly abundant loot, kitting myself with a Mosin and a PM73-RAK with clips to last me WW3. To end my journey, I plop down, take out the just finished meat from the fire, and allow myself to feast. Fuck those who say DayZ Alpha is not exciting, you just need to make it exciting!
plexico 386 Posted August 7, 2014 Nice story, sounded like something out of an action movie. My most badass moment was probably when me and a friend armed ourselves with a Mosin and an SKS and one by one took out every single man in the NEAF, which was probably around 10 players. The G.I Joes always seem to think their kitted out M4 makes them invincible, which is very unfortunate for them.
battlerhd 116 Posted August 7, 2014 I met a guy on the open road, he called me bob. After him talking to me all the way down to Elektro we met some unfriendly people who stopped us and tried to execute us out in the plain sights of day. As the man drew his rifle to my face I heard my fellow companion shout "RUN BOB, RUUNN" so I did what any man would of, I ran so fast but all I could hear was him shout "RUN" until the bang, the dreaded bang... He was gone, the mysterious man who never told me his name was dead, I was alive but apart of me is still left in that field. May his gentle soul rest forever in peace. -Bob

hells high 676 Posted August 7, 2014 One by one, a round is landed into all 7 of the downed, presumably bandits. Lol of course you presume they were, anyone anybody ever kills in DayZ are bandits right? I travel in a group of 3-5 depending on who is online at the time, and I imagine those that try and take us out think we're bandits. We presume anyone that attacks us are bandits, even though they are probably just scared we'd do the same. Its a cool story but in this situation you have to face that you were the bandit, and from your story you hadn't seen them kill anything but an animal of some kind. Merrick362 (DayZ) 263 Posted August 7, 2014 Handcuffing a shovel wielding maniac, taking his own machete and going full cholo. Cursing his mother as I cut his head off. Thump. Thump. Thump. That, or taking an SKS round to the chest at NWA, pinning him down on the firestation roof with sawn-off shotgun fire while my two friends flank either side. Then having them suppress him while I climb the ladder just below the tower. Knocking him out with Mosin fire, bandaging, cuffing and saline bagging him before throwing his rifle off the roof and stealing some ammo. Unfortunately he broke free while I was still there. So the last thing he ever heard was "Can't let you do that, Starfox", before two rounds of 00 took his head apart.
