A Question For The Devs

So currently I'm renting a server from a 3rd party provider, the functions they offer are extremely basic, the pricing is insane compared to if I hosted it on my own servers, I've hosted some other gaming servers before but I won't go into that here, I'm just wondering how I would host my own server on my own dedicated box. The problem also is that I know the developers have restrictions and I would have to comply with which is completely fine. A friend told me that I would be able to get a licence for something like $40 a month, but I've seen no official posts about this, if there is any it'd be great if I could see those. 

 

Would love to hear some news back on this, and also if I do have to apply with the developers, then some information regarding what they expect would be great as I'm sure I can handle anything they throw at me.

I'd be a little suspicious about buying a 'license', but I'm not involved in servers of any kind.  For right now the Devs will not release server files as a security measure, and probably won't till Release or maybe even later.
