Why is this a thing?

Nope I wasn't prosuming, I based it on the survivors that are alive at this time to think this way, also if you noticed I was talking in a general way of thinking, not just dayz, I based that on a way life way of thinking.

Also the movie thing, I said virus, not just the virus that turns people in to crazyed undead with the taste of human brains, I said "virus based movies/books/movels/shows", not just zombie ones

.

Also you just provided my point using Walking Dead, the fact that such a hit tv show people are coming to dayz mod/sa to simulate the walking dead.

As I stated, every survivor you see in Chernarus arrived AFTER the outbreak. So your "survivors still alive because dey had ammo in der guns" is 0.

I get how viruses work, I've done some minor research into them over the years because I find it slightly fascinating. Grew up in a medical family and was reading through my mom's medical journals and books when I was 11-12(?) then was in advanced biology classes in highschool and started out as a biology major in college. I later decided to go into computers but kept an interest in biology, zoology, and especially virology. We were speaking of viruses that create zombie like conditions and of those the vast majority are presented as being spread by contact with bodily fluids.

I don't see how Walking Dead supports your point. If anything it proves mine. Rick survives by dumb luck, his door was never breached and he came out of his coma. He then gears up by running into another survivor and going to the police station where the weapons are under lock and key and the mags are not really IN the gun because law enforcement doesn't store them that way.

I don't understand why mags are so hard to find? They are in guns or next to them always in real life, yet they are so hard to find. It is a zombie apocalypse for Christ sake! You should fine old worn ones and broken ones all over the place! Especially on skeletons of Police officers and Army bros too (Dropped them when they died). It should be the bullets that are hard to find! Yet my bags full of them... I'm so bored because I can not find one of these hidden-oh so common in real life-gems. It is soooo boring. They should be some what on the lesser side of common, but instead the only people that have them are server jumpers and spawn-in-ers. If I go to a military base with a military gun what to you think I expect to find on the bodies of dead. MAGS. I mean, they are so rare! Why. why. why. Bullets should be!!! The zombie thing has been going on for awhile and people downed as many as they could before they ran out of ammo and left there empty MAGS by their bodies or still have them on them.

Bullets should be rare! Make firefight so much more intense, not mags, mags are the things you get with a purchase of a 6 pack of beer in Texas and you just throw them away because you have WAY to many at home.

Either please give me some freaking mags because i'm sick of making it rain by throw useless ammo at zombie strippers that doesn't do any damage. Or give me a car with 3 chainsaws on the front of it so I can have some entertainment before being shot in the face by someone with a AK and 75 round mags sitting roof with all his friends.

And no I don't play on high population servers. I play on multiple low ones with high and average loot spawns and I've started sever jumping to catch the restarts and spawns of loot.  I hate myself, but i'm doing it.

PS I typed this sitting on my chair made of ammo and flashlights

Although this is a bit of rant, I do want to talk about this and determine if I should write a suggestion (Nicely) to change around the current situation. Would this help the game? Or hurt it?

I wish weapons were handled differently in DayZ. They should have had gun and ammunition lockers in police and military buildings. Some houses like the piano house could also have lockers. Gun lockers would mostly empty but any guns spawning there would be stored without clips but mostly pristine weapons. Clips and ammunition would be stored in the ammo lockers. Random guns you would find in the world on the floor of a house were presumed dropped by someone who died and became a zombie or was devoured. They would be more likely to be damaged/ in need etc. They would often have clips in them with a few rounds still in the clip. Military and police zombies would often still have rifles hanging off of them or clips/ammunition still in vests etc.

Wondering where you got this from? It's the first time I've ever heard someone say this. I know with DayZRP's Lore, this wouldn't be true. In their lore which they work very hard to make as acurate as possible to the game and mod, there were one or two villages that resisted and were able to hold up for a little while and many forign troops coming in to help for a week or two after the outbreak. Most EU and US troops pulled back or were destoyed/stranded but US special forces stayed and russian troops stayed ready on the borders until the infection had sprad worldwide and everything went dark.

"In Kozlovka, the villagers had rallied and formed an effective militia that combated the infected. Contact with them was kept up and for a long time, they were the best source of information to both media and the goverment on what was actually going on."

"DAY 6 was known to many chernarussians as "the day the foreigners thought they could do better."

The infection spreads like a wildfire during the night of day 5, and envelops the NWAF and entire central south Zagoria. Cases are started to be reported on the outskirts of Berezino and Chernogorsk, and the NEAF is generally regarded as the only airfield still in control by CDF forces. Air assets are lost en masse as the infected take NWAF and Balota, with huge CDF casualties in the process.

Now however the international community intervenes. International forces from many countries, including France, Great Britain, USA, Russia, Germany, Poland, Italy and Canada, as well as some others, swarm the countryside of South Zagoria.

The american base on Utes, being kept as a base for a local garrison ever since the 2009 incident, is used to launch air assets and an aggressive campaign against the infected.

Russia also intervenes, although separatly from the international task force. They send a few dedicated special forces units over the border to help contain the outbreak, and these units participate in some of the heaviest fighting in the northern part of the province."

"On the morning of day 7, only Elektrozavodsk, Msta, Kamyshovo and Solnichiy are unaffected and have no reported cases. Refugees are pouring in from all over South Zagoria both to these areas and to the west.

Some try to flee north, but are met by massive russian forces guarding the border. Noone is allowed in or out, the russians even deny "allied" air assets to fly over their territory."

"At the end of day 7, the amount of communication from allied forces in South Zagoria has dropped sharply, as most units has collapsed in the field. One of the last statements comes from a major Tyler of the US expeditionary force, that he's pulling his troops back to Utes.

His last statement heard over radio is "God be with you all."

In a Chernarussian TV channel however there are reports that there are scattered incidents where people that have been bit have not turned. Doctors and scientists are trying to figure out of a "cure" can be made from these "immune" individuals, but an official states that it could take months of work, as they do not fully understand the virus yet. Also, he says, it is important to note that even if "immune", the infected will still very much try to kill you."

On day 14, there is silence across most of the broadcast waves. A few select people still have contact with others, but to most people the radio is eerie quiet. Wether that is because the communication infrastructure is broken down or offline, because of jamming or because noone is longer broadcasting is unknown.

The last transmission heard on most common radio devices is a statement from a survivor in Kozlovka.

"Brothers and sisters, the world may have ended, but we will not end with it! Rise and fight these foul hordes, for they are no longer our fellow humans! Throughout history humanity has always persevered the steepest challenges. We will survive this as well, but only if we fight for our survival!

May god be with you! And if god isnt, for it is clear he no longer thinks much of the earth, then may luck and perseverance be with you. We will all need it to endure what comes."

It has been stated numerous times that the reason why you find yourself on a beach with nothing(yes the inland spawns have changed that some) was that you washed up on shore from a shipwreck. That is why you don't have a map, you don't have food and drink, and why you are almost starving.

It's so hard to judge most of the stuff in "Alpher" since so much is just a placeholder O_o.

I still have never seen anything from Bohimia saying anything like this so again more than "been stated numourus times" would be nice like an actual link. As a member of DayZRP I know, they would probably like to know this info for future use once they get a SA DayZRP server doing. They're super strict on character background and such so if something like this were true for the SA and not mod.

DayZRP is a community run mod it has nothing to do with the official Mod or SA. To quote:

In the post-apocalyptic world of DayZRP we have our own lore all players have to follow as well as rules that regulate the role playing gameplay.

Notice, their own lore, as in not accurate to what Dean has stated in the past. FanFic is notoriously not canon and that is basically what DayZRP is.
