Pings 0 Posted June 29, 2012 Hi, just installed DayZ and tried to play it, Arma 2 Free worked just fine so I was like yeah why not. Spent 25€ to play Dayz. Well I can't even run the game on the lowest Settings in 800x600 (it looks like Minecraft there lol), cuz I have an average 12 fps there. My specs:Intel Core2Duo E6400 2x2.133 GB RAMGeforce 250 GTSWindows 7 32 BitIs my Computer just too bad and outdated or am I doing something terribly wrong? fpjdenhartog@gmail.com 0 Posted June 30, 2012 Welcome to everyone's world! There is but one explanation. Well, two actually:1) The ArmA engine isn't very optimized2) The mod's in Alpha
John (DayZ) 62 Posted June 30, 2012 Well, brother, your specs are pretty lackluster to begin with (no offense intended, I had to work my ass off for quite a while to get the rig I've got now), but your problem may not simply be your computer. As of the most recent version, my framerate is absolutely terrible - it's gone from 40-45, solid, to about 15-20, unless I drop the graphics all the way to Very Low.However, I'm thinking this might be some absurd side-effect of the beta patch - you see, my single player even seems to be running a bit sluggishly. DayZ makes absolutely no modification to anything not DayZ, so the only explanation that I can come up with is that the most recent version of the beta patch has somehow screwed me.Honestly, though, I've barely played the mod since 1.7.1. Each new update seems to break the game even further, and the beta patch is absolute, useless rubbish.
djzeber 3 Posted June 30, 2012 Search on google Can I Run It then choose Arma 2 operation arrowhead and see what they come up with..3Gb of Ram seems a little low and you have a old CPU.. Upgrade is what you need sir sorry to say.I run 8Gb of ram with a AMD-FX4100-Quad core 3.60ghz Cpu with the 6670GFX Card and it runs fine.
Forsh 2 Posted June 30, 2012 One of the things I found when getting my settings correct was if you set any of the advanced graphics options to "low", then it will use the CPU instead of your graphics card... set those to "normal" instead and you will probably see a performance increase, particularly for things like shadowing. Also - switch OFF postprocessing and Antialiasing/Anisotropic Filtering, and set the video memory option to "very high".Couple of other things:-In the game options, turn off headbob (personal preference), but most of all in the controls section turn off mouse smoothing.By doing all this, my framerate jumped from 20-30 to 40-50, and the perceived motion lag was eliminated by turning off the mouse smoothing so it now looks as well as plays smoothly.
