pilgrim* 3514 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) I don't think its that bad, this is at a smidgeon over 400m:..//..And from my spotter:..//..Maybe try the morphene/splint thing see if it goes away. Solved the issue for me. That's not the same for me, def. Isn't this from before the .47 release ?Are you serious about morphine - you take morphine to shoot ? foxdie_01 121 Posted July 31, 2014 Yeah. Was last night post patch. Spent almost 30 mins getting a clear shot on these two ambushing users going to the police station, never got the second guy. Honestly, I was horrified when I zoomed in post patch saw the cross-hair moving about like I had parkinsons. Thought i give the morphine a ago and it stopped instantly. I must of got a broken arm somehow, but i've not had any contact with anyone, human or zed for almost a week. and It was fine pre patch.

Reduces sway by about half, you are right. I am convinced. Makes shooting possible. But no I did not have a broken arm. I'm pretty sure about that, the sway was ok before the patch, was not ok after.Seems it's the morphine reduces sway, that's alli'll test some more but Good Grief !You realise what this means when word gets around? foxdie_01 121 Posted July 31, 2014 Maybe a hidden feature, like the old metal gear solid days when you took Diazepam to reduce your heart beat to take difficult shots.

Cullis 7 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) soldiers do it all the time its called a boot knife. That's 1) a really small knife2) not 'in the boot' but on the boot. On it's outside, in a special pouch. Edited August 1, 2014 by Cullis

EDIT: ( 8/8 quote above is not pilgrim's, but foxdie_01's, I messed up while originally editing this post) Try shooting in real life... JFK... people, humans are not terminators. It's pretty hard to eliminate sway unless you are using a bench-rest. And with 12-15x zoom, sway is pretty much inevitable. pilgrim* 3514 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) I did NOT SAY :<<<<<<Honestly, I was horrified when I zoomed in post patch saw the cross-hair moving about like I had parkinsons. >>>>>> You faked the post - I guess it's an honest mistake, but this above is NOT my post. OK ? Check back and see where you went wrong.Yo Cullis - what I SAID was: More sway on Mosin LRS than before - or maybe it's just me.I decided it's really not worth using. At 400m your crosshair swings around in loops about 8 feet diameter on target (about half the side of a shed, or a bit more). This is when you are rested and crouched/sitting.Anyone confirm .. maybe I'm having a bad day? Try shooting in real life... JFK... people, humans are not terminators. It's pretty hard to eliminate sway unless you are using a bench-rest. And with 12-15x zoom, sway is pretty much inevitable. To reply (anyway): I have 'tried shooting in real life'. I am not a dedicated shootist. But I have shot with a reasonably high powered scope. It is not similar to the in-game experience.. but maybe I can live with it.. but maybe not..and maybe I'll have to... Everybody has the same parameters in the game, so we are all even. I am not shouting "this must be changed, OMG" etc.. I'm interested to try it out and see what I make of it.. at the moment I have problems. I went out and bought myself a new mouse this afternoon (heh, so now you all goin' to die). I wanted to talk to other players who are dedicated snipers, to see what they make of the LRS+Mosin now. anyway - not my post dude, you pasted my name on another player's post, shame on you. xx Edited August 3, 2014 by pilgrim

What position kind of position were you using for shooting? A bench rest?
pilgrim* 3514 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Sorry about that. What position kind of position were you using for shooting? A bench rest? (no prob, I was just confused when I read it, it's not my style of speech) sniper's squat ? .. the people I know call it shooter's squat here - sit with one leg out and one bent up, or (usually) kneel on one knee with the other knee up and that foot flat on the ground, to rest on the high knee. it's just a practical thing if you aren't lying down, and there is grass or undergrowth between you and target. Or you can just lean against a tree either standing or crouched. but this thread is my theory about better SWAY in the game:http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/206630-sway-function-math-suggestion/#entry2072241 Edited August 8, 2014 by pilgrim
