So, I was off at the NW Airfield, looting the barracks... I had no idea what the building looked like nor have I ever been inside the barracks, but I looked it up, couldnt find anything, and made my best guess off videos.... So I go in, start looting, and then bam.... An Fn fal... I was like, staring at it.... Then I quickly realised that I had to make room in my pack, so I dumped out the raw steak(Easy to find, so I thought it was the best choice) and a couple of smoke nades, and quickly dumped the gun and mag into it and got out of the barracks quickly... I then looked it up on the wiki and it says its only found in Heli crash sites..... So did I just pick up a gun that someone dropped or was it legitly spawned?

That was probably mine. Find that today? If so, it was cause I'm not online during the night much, and I replaced it with a Fal with iron sights instead.

It's limited ... carries only 20 shots rounds and the night scoped version is useless during the day, making it a PvP night weapon, really.

If you're a night player-hunter, then yah - it's the best weapon. If you're a lone wolf survivor who fights a lot of Z, not so much.

alot if better than FN fal. the weakest gun on our clan atm is proabably an M24.

On death you can easily locate helo's by server hopping in open fields.... kinda gay, but hey, i've played over 300 hours and i'm kinda over the whole "look on an over looted server for gear" thing.

Anywho, 1-2 hours grabs you a decent helo gun. Kill people from there on for whatever more you need.

same thing happened to me only it was a fal with nv scope, and it was in the stary mil outpost. dunno why someone threw it away; guess they found something better.

The fal gets a lot of hate but putting aside its rarity it's a decent weapon. Power of a dmr with a lot faster fire rate. Sights are no worse than any other gun IMO just depends on your preference. The nv scope is what really makes if valuable though for me. I prefer playing at night so it's invaluable.. At least till I find some nvgs. But if you only play daytime servers you won't find it useful. (until the fix the switch to turn nv off and on as it should be.. Kind of a basic thing to have worked out you'd think)
